I was just wondering if anyone was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia before they were diagnosed with MS? Or if anyone knows if there is a connection?
Thanks Willow :)

Willow, there is no connection: however, MANY people are first dx with Fibro before finding out they have MS simply because many of the docs do not know enough about MS to make the connection. FIbro, although really it is a disease, is often a catch-all phrase for any nerve pain...and nerve pain is a huge thing with MS patients. If you have been dx with Fibro and suspect that you might have MS, you should DEFINATELY see an MS specialist for another opinion. Its a shame, but so few docs are really "up" on MS - that they often misdiagnosis it for years...also, because there is no test for MS, and its a diagnosis based on ruling out so many other things which present similarily, such as Fibro, Lupus and even Lyme- getting a MS dx can be a trying experience.
I hope you dont find yourself wondering if you were mis-diagnosed, but I would highly suggest going straight to the top with a MS specialist if you do suspect this.
Good luck.
