This is the 2nd time that this has happened. It has been a while since the last time it did happen but it is really strange.
I was laying in bed trying to fall asleep and I suddenly felt a sharp pain that felt like it traveled up from my chest and went straight through the center of my nipple and after it did my body did an involuntary jolt like I just had a jump start.. does that make since? I am used to feeling pains and sharp pains here and there so I know that is not what made me jump like that. It was so weird... like a bolt of electricity went through me and came out my nipple... LOL... and just when I though things could not get any stranger... LOL.
So I am just wondering if this has happened to anyone else  or if I have gone off the deep end this time. :D

Moonlady, sounds pretty strange to me. Never had that happen, but if it is something happening in KC. I hope it stays there and doesn't come east to ST.Louis.....giggle! I have had chest pains before, I thought maybe you were going to say you had that horrible sharp pain that goes right through you and builds till you can't stand it and then slowly eases up. Have never had an electrical jolt.

I typically get those pains in my back, neck and legs. It is like a jolt. But I get those those pains that Glojer mentioned as well.

Related at all to breast tenderness from period/PMS? Was it just one time then went away? Do you have costo?

No Period or PMS, I had a hysterectomy back in 97 but I do still get breast tenderness from time to time.... usually about once a month! My ovaries are still intact which also makes if very hard to determine if I am going through menopause but I have had a lot of the symptoms in the past year other than the normal missed periods.
It was so weird with the way it made me jump after it shot "out". I felt it coming and going out and I just summed it up to a normal shooting pain but after it went out, it caused an involuntary jump. I can see if it took me by surprise, but it was actually a different kind of a jolt than that. Really weird.
This happened one other time few months ago, same thing while I was laying down. I had about forgot about that time until it happened again.
I suppose it was probably just neurological but it was really weird. I get small lightening zaps once in a while in my arms and legs but nothing like that and none of them have ever made me jump like that but of course they never "exited" either, they just zap. I guess the jolt was caused from it exiting.
I get pains that build up like that too Glojer, not sharp pains though, just a building up bad aching miserable pain that seems to last forever and then slowly eases up. It is like someone is squeezing the life out of me.
What is costo?

Hi Moonlady!
I've had the same breast pain that you have described, along with other weird sensations. The doctor checked it all out, and nothing is wrong. So I attributed this to FMS and stopped worrying.
Bye!

I have the same exact feeling in my right breast. A sharp or shooting pain that starts from the bottom right or upper right and shoots to the nipple area. I have been trying to figure out what it is but mine has been happening everyday for about 3 weeks. I went to the doctor they didn't find any lumps or anything abnormal from the breast exam. Not sure what it could be but I wish the pain would stop. Anyone else felt this before.

Hey MoonLady,
I have had the exact same thing. I had a cyst removed in 1993 and it resembles that pain, but not exactly. My yearly exams have come back normally every time, so I'm not worried about it. I just figure it's another one of the lovely symptoms of fibromyalgia. I also have the other pain described by others. Sometimes when I lie down, I have pain in my chest and in my back between my shoulderblades that gets very intense and then begins to ease away.
Hope you feel better!
Pam

I've had that pain for years. Not all the time just once in a blue it would happen and not always while laying down. Loads of fun when it happens in public and your waiting for the jolt. And then it happens....you jump a little...they look at you like what's with her...and your laughing inside because you know they won't say anything out of fear you actually might tell them..lol
If you are having them like Jessie672 you should have it checked out by your doc though. My sister had them like that and turned out she had milk duct infection and she was finished having kids 18 yrs before. Once in a blue is really nothing but just a nerve thing as far as I know. But if really frequent and painful should be checked. Well ladies, have a great and low pain day!

I've had that happen to me too. Especially when my Costochrondritis flares up. I've even had my whole right breast hurt from it.
