Over the weekend I scanned by a program on TV talking about a shot that promotes weight loss. I guess you just go into a place and get a shot in your hip that melts away the fat - I think it was called Lipo-shot or something. It is suppose to break up the fat that goes into your body. Does this sound familiar?? Anybody have any info?? Thanks in advance.

I personally never heard of it. It reminds me of the shots my mother who was obese and her friend (also obese) were getting in the late 1960's and early 1970's. It was later revealed to be equine urine and had no real effect except that common to placebo effect.

Rixtar, My mom used to have these wrapped candies in the 70's called AYD's I believe. My sisters & I used to eat them and speed our heads off although we did not realize it at the time. I guess your mom's equine urine shots reminded me of that.

What you are refering to is called mesotherapy. I have had three treatments and have lost 4 inches from my waist. It involves multiple, relatively painless, injections of a combination of medications that actually melt the fat. It is expensive, but well worth it as no matter how much I exercised or dieted, I have been unable to lose the fat on my abdomen and hips. I you want to learn more about this French technique, go to www.google.com (http://www.google.com) and type in "mesotherapy" and you will find lots of information.
