My best friend of over 24 years was just diagnosed with Lymphoma. She is 43yrs old. I do not know what type of Lymphoma yet. She was in the ER yesterday because of severe pain in her lower abdomen. She had a liver biospy last week Thurs. The Dr at the ER told her he had her pathology results (since she was at the same hospital where she had her biopsy) and I guess all her really told her was it was Lymphoma. I know there are many types of this disease. She has several very large nodules/masses in her liver. That is how they detected someone was wrong to begin with. She also has a lot of pain- vicodin does not touch it. She will have a Pet scan later this week. Does anyone know if the fact that she is in pain and has masses on her liver that it could mean stage 4 disease? Also, is bulky disease considered involvement of a major organ such as her liver that shows these masses? The ER dr also told her that in just a little over a week from her last CT the masses in her liver are extremely active. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. I will update when I have more details.
Thank you!!!!!
Update: She has Large B Cell Lymphoma (Stage 4). Will get her infusa port on Friday to start chemo. Pet scan is scheduled for Thurs.
If anyone can tell me what they have experience with this disease I would appreciate it.

Hi.
I'm not familiar with this type of lymphoma, but I've seen other people on here mention it. Hopefully, someone will come on & give you more insight.
I'm sorry to hear of your friend's diagnosis.
As I'm sure you know, lymphoma is treatable---I'm here to attest to that.
Just wanted you to know there's support here....
Sometimes these boards get a bit quiet.
The best of luck to you and your friend. How is she doing?
God Bless.

HI
I have just gone into remission with large b cell lymphoma stage 4. It is a very treatable disease. I am sure she will be getting a very strong RCHOP chemotherapy. I could not have done it without my friends. They would come over and clean or cook, take me to chemo, make me smile when my hair fell out. Shes gonna need a friend right now, its nice to see you researching and caring so much.
