So I've had a hemorrhoid for about 4 years I think; sometimes it's not too bad and then other days it will bleed or hurt a lot. Whenever I visit my doctor (which isn't that frequent) I usually forget to mention it because it's not pressing enough to stay on my mind.
At any given time I can feel a little pouch right outside - would this be internal or external? If it's internal I need surgery, right? What about if it's external? I feel like I am way too young to have surgery for this, I'm only 22! I will also lose my health insurance in December too after I graduate college, so I should probably find out soon if I need to get it removed right? Is there anything I can do before I resort to surgery? I've tried the creams a few times but I usually only use it for a day and then forget about it.
And one last question, do I go to my regular physician for this? I don't know anything about hemorrhoids... I'm applying for the Peace Corps also, and they require an extensive physical. You are not eligible to serve if you have an internal hemorrhoid (you are only eligible after it's removed)
