I already posted a thread, but didn't receive any responses back. This past week I had been taking my sugar pills (the week when you get your period for a couple days). I started a new cycle today, so this morning took a birth control pill. Although, last night during intercourse, my boyfriend ejaculated in me and I'm not sure if the birth control is effective: 1) because I had been off of it, taking the sugar pills for a week and 2) because this prior month was my first time taking birth control for a long time and I've heard you might need to take it for about 3 months for it to be completely effective. Just wondering if I should get a morning after pill or if one month of taking the birth control will be enough. If anyone has had this experience or thinks they might know the answer please let me know asap because the morning after pill is only good for up to 72 hours, thanks.

Yes, you are still protected. Whoever told you that you need to take the pill for 3 months before it comes fully effective is wrong (that is ridiculous). The pill pack information specifically says that even though you are just starting the pill, it only takes 7 days for it to be fully effective. You can't get pregnant on the placebo week since you're still protected
regardless of the fact that you're not taking active pills.
One month is plenty of time for yout body to adjust to the horomes and protect you from pregnancy.

Don't worry... don't waste your money on a morning after pill, you don't need it.
