What kind of staples they use to staple your bowel back together in a bowel resection? I had one done, and my mom had asked what if I need an mri or cat scan one day, and they can't do it because of the staples? I din't think about that. Can someone who had this done ever get those kinds of tests done? Just curious?

I think it is done with Titanium that is very strong and non-magnetic.
At least that is what my Colorectal Surgeon told me.
For a CAT scan that is done with x-rays the type metal makes no difference but with an MRI it cannot be a magnetic material -- iron, nickel or cobalt.

Yes, Harry's right. It's Titanium, and will stay put forever. It doesn't affect other testing because it's not attracted to a magnet.
