I am a 31 year old woman who was diagnosed with high-risk HPV about 5 years ago. I had the LEEP to remove the abnormal cells and had not had sex since then. I recently began a new relationship with a man. I told him about my HPV and explained what it meant and he was accepting and loving, just all around wonderful. We have had sex with a condom but now he wants to have sex without one. I am just worried about what that will mean for him. We are in a monogomous relationship, but I still don't want to expose him to this. What do I tell him? I suppose he is willing to take the risk. I know condoms don't completely protect but I have had normal pap smears since my LEEP. If there is any advice anyone has, it would be greatly appreciated. I plan on talking to my gyno soon. I want to have as much information for him as possible. Thank You!!

Hi Anon, since you have already had intercourse, then I would assume he has already been exposed. The good news (for him) is that HPV rarely leads to cancer in men.
