My son had adhs and was treated with tegratol and chlonadine...worked will. Years went by and he didn't take it. RFestles, xan't keep a job, irresponsible and so on. So I finally got him to a dr. and he put him back on the drugs. I have been reading but can't find any infoo on the drugs and my son's problem. How does it work?

I'm generally willing to do quick research on the various medications that people are treated with and give my best layman's interpretation, but in the case of these drugs I'm not sure how they interact to treat ADHD.
Both appear to be depressants, which in my experience isn't the type of medication used to control ADHD, but my research showed that while they are less common than some other medications, both are used to treat ADHD.
For a better informed explanation, I would speak to your doctor or pharmacist, either would likely be able to help.

Hi---tegretol has been used in the past primarily for epilepsy clonidine also but to a lesser extent. Thur is right talk to a pharmacist or psychiatrist.
