Hi,
My dad has a problem of recurring stones in left kidney for last 20 years.
10 years ago, part of kedney was cut in which stones were recurring, but the stones kept on recurring. He has undergone many surgeries for the same.
Few months back laser technique was used to crush the stones but now there are 3-4 newly formed stones in the same kidney.
Could anyone please suggest what will be the best way to get out of this.
Thanks
Vish

Has your father gone for any lab work? I had 2 stones crushed this summer, and am heading to the lab on Tuesday to have extensive blood work and a UriFlow test done. His body could be producing too much of something or lacking something - hence the stones.

supereen,
May I ask if you knew the size (in millimeters) of those two stones you recently had crushed? I am having an issue again in that I passed a 2 mm. size stone (pretty small) back in 2004 and at the time after a CT scan they told me I still had 6 more left behind. (3 in the left & 3 in the right)
My understanding is that they can only crush larger size stones and not the small variety like mine. Let me know of you can.
Thanks!
