Has anyone tried phentermine? For how long? I just ordered some and I was wondering how long it took you to lose weight, and how much weight.
I am hoping that I will see success this time!
Thanks in advance.

Hi Sarah, yes I am on fastin which is phentermine. I got it from my doctor, I take one a day and it's 15 mg. How did you order it without a prescription and what was the cost? I pay $36.00 a month. Yes, it works! I have been on it before and lost 50 pounds but I have FMS and my doctor had me try different pain medications which put the weight back on me. Now I stopped the pain meds that were causing me to gain weight and she has me on Fastin again, I have been on it for a week and a half and lost 7 pounds so far. If you have high blood pressure be very careful with this drug, if you feel shaky, dizzy or your heart is beating fast cut your dose in half. But make sure your blood pressure doesn't go up. I have always had a low blood pressure so it isn't a problem for me. Let me know how it does for you and Good Luck, Rose

I was on that like 3 years ago and I did lose weight. I lost 40 lbs in two months, but I was also walking 3 miles a day. I have been wanting to go back on it, but we have moved and I can't find a doctor here that can give it to me. I have high blood pressure so I have to be monitored by a doctor while I am on it. Hope this helps you!

Thank you for your experiences. I just started today, and did not experience any negative side effects. I have always had low blood pressure as well, it should be fine. I am taking 30mg a day. I got them on SafeWebMedical, but I think i will order from a Canadian company nexy time, as it cost me 70 dollars.
I am on a low calories diet, and I exercise daily for about 30 mins. I hope to see results soon.
I know drugs are not the answer, but in my unhappiness with my weight, it is something that I am relying on right now.
Thanks again for your thoughts,
~Sarah

Dabbamac, how have you been doing? I am going to the doctor next week to ask for Phentermine (cheaper that way). I took Phen a couple years ago along with Fen and just stopped taking both when Fen was pulled from the market. I would be extremely happy to lose the 40 lbs. I gained from being on antidepressants.

Well, just got back from the doctor and he will not give me phentermine or meridia or anything else. He said the side effects are not worth the risk. He did say that I might be a candidate for gastric bypass surgery. You have to be at least 100 lbs overweight and I am only about 80. He said you're out of work for 4 to 6 weeks, mainly due to getting used to the new diet. The first few weeks are just liquids and vitamins then you to high protein and then low carbs and fats. I think I'm going to increase my exercise and really be honest about what goes into my mouth. Although, I really don't overeat but may have a cookie or a couple m&m's daily. I am going to decrease my carbs and increase protein too.

Hello
Im using phentermine. Though not regular, the first 2 weeks i lost 6 lbs, and then i gained weight of 5 lbs because of my periods. I stopped then because i wanted quick results. From that time on, I hv been doing 45-50 min of strength training in moderation, watching calories (proteins more), im a vegetarian, from 191.5 lbs i have come down to 179 lbs since October 1st week till now, which i really feel has come from more exercising and careful eating than phen. I really want to see 160's soon, so probably i will start taking phen again, But i swear it irritated me a lot and i was feeling less energetic after first few days.

The thing I've noticed taking Fastin (Phentermine) is that I have to remind myself to eat. I've never had that problem before, especially with depression. I lost a loved one recently and couldn't seem to keep my motivation to lose weight, so the Fastin is really helping. I am also following Weight Watchers and running 2.5 miles 5-6 times a week. I will start alternating pilates and Tae Bo soon and when I get within my goal range I want to start strength training to tone. I actually feel like I can do it now because the Fastin controls my appetite so I'm not preoccupied with food thoughts. I've been on it three days and lost two pounds. Years ago, after my second kid, I lost fifteen pounds in three weeks, so I expect to do well this time also. No side effects, except forgetting to eat.

I ordered it online after trying for a long time to get a doctor to prescribe it to me.
I visited several doctors and they all said they would not prescribe it to me because my insurance wouldn't cover it.
I begged them to prescribe it anyway and they would not.
So anyway I ordered it online on one of those--fill out the blanks and we'll prescribe it to you and then you can order it from us and make us rich--places.
I used it for two months.
Within that time I lost 30 pounds.
I stopped using it because my heart would race.
Once I went to the emergancy room and they said I was having a panic attact.
Of course once off it the pounds returned.
So to answer your question:
Yes you can loose weight with it.
It wasn't safe for me.
I wish I could have continued but it just wasn't safe for me.
Good luck with it...I hope you do better than I did.
But please be very careful.
The first day I took it I took the "prescribed" amount.
I felt my heart racing so from then on I took 1/2 dosage.
I still lost weight but I really, really had to get off of it.

Phentermine has been around for years and the risks are minimal compared to the risk of obesity. Simple risk vs. benefit. If there was substantial evidence of such, the FDA would have removed it years ago. They are very hyped up about jumping on anything to do with weightloss. Even new evidence is appearing now that the banned Phen-fen combination may not have caused as many deaths as previously thought. Phentermine is not the only weight loss drug out there. It may or may not work for you, but it is worth a try. I suggest looking in your area for a medical weight loss clinic who has a physician on staff. Also the fact that insurance doesn't cover the medication is not an appropriate reason not to give someone the prescription. Generic phentermine is ~$28. Buy the way, don't get it from Walgreens. The generic they have phamacodynamics/pharmacokinetics is not up to par with other generic brands. Generic doesn't mean equal! And what is up with the suggestion of bi-pass surgery! That is risky and should be used as a last resort. More people have died during surgery and from complications of surgery than phentermine could ever come close to. Especially since phentermine hasn't been proven it killed anyone. Sorry for the rant.

you cant take it if you have hyperthyroidism, brain or spine conditions, atherosclerosis, heart conditions, high blood pressure or glaucoma. you really have to watch your BP. you cant take it if you have a high BP or if it gets too high while youre on it.
I have been on it for 5 days and have lost 10 lbs. my appatite has reduced and energy has increased. my job im always on my feet, so that helps. and i work out every so often. its nice to only haveto take one a day. im taking the blue/clear pills at 30mg.
i ordered it online, but get it through a doc if you can... WAY more cheap. i'll hafta do that next bottle. my dad got it from his doc, but he hardly takes it! what a waiste! i see that some of you have problems of getting it from your doctor.. ? i wonder what is the key that makes them say no? i think you need to be over 26% body fat. but i wonder what other conditions make it a "no"? hm.

Hi Everyone. I haven't been to the boards in quite some time but I was needing some advice about phentermine. I have read all the posts concerning it. But I was talking to my husband one night that I was thinking about ordering it and he thought it would be a nice jester if he ordered it for me and he did so without doing any really good research on it first so I started researching it and it states that it shouldn't be took with uptake inhinbitors which mine is Celexa 60mg. It said to contact your doctor pr pharmacist for more info so I did....one pharmacist said it shouldn't be used together and another one said it was fine, that celexa was not an maoi so it was ok. I'm just wondering if it would just lessen the strength of the celexa or if it could be a very dangerous combination so I was wondering if anyone has took this product with things as celexa,paxil,luvox..ect

Hi WVG
I am currently taking phentermine with zoloft and I haven't noticed any side effects except the usual like mood swings or being irritated easily. I have taken phentermine without the AD and had the same side effects, so everybody is different. Do some research online, I found where it says it can be more effective for weightloss with it and not to take an AD with the phentermine. Good Luck!

Hi Angeleyesinga.... Thank you for replying. I have searched and searched for information on about taking Celexa with Phentermine and all I can come up with is what it says on the Celexa websites and it states...Celexa is not recommended for use with: weight loss drugs (e.g., sibutramine, phentermine). Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more details. So I did call the pharmacist and one guy said not to take it and the other said it would be ok so I just don't know. Like I said before if the phentermine would just lessen the effect of the celexa that would be ok but I don't want any serious reactions with taking them together.

I got Phentermine from a doctor a few years ago. A couple of you have said that that is the cheap way to go...I don't necessarily agree. I'm not really sure if it is required by all doctors but when I was taking it, I was required to have a doctor's visit every time I ran out of the med. He started me out on 30mg (blue and white). After a while, I began to get really strange dreams nightly and we associated them with the medicine so my dosage was reduced to 15mg. Throughout my experience with Phentermine, I noticed the following side effects: increase in heart rate and VERY dry mouth. At the time I was in high school and VERY involved in vocal music so the dryness was a problem. I did however, have an increase in energy and less food cravings as well as a more positive attitude. Also, the medicine really helped me loose weight. However, unless you change your eating habits or stay on phentermine for a long enough time to get used to eating less, you'll probably gain all the weight back - I did...and more. Also, my mom kinda had a problem with me taking it because who knows what could have happened to me. Hope this helps.

I have been taking phen for 2 weeks. So far I have lost 8 pounds. It has helped me to stop thinking about food so much. Before I would think about food all day long. Now since i'm not hungry, I am able to focus on other more important things.

I have been using Phentermine 15 mg and Prozac for 3 months now. It was absolutely wonderful at first and I consistently lost 2 lbs per week. I had so much energy and my appetite was much smaller, it made it easier for me to make the right choices. In that time, I have changed my eating habits and am very conscious about my food choices. I also exercise regularly at least four times per week. I do 40 minutes of intense cardio and daily weight training as well. I have lost 20 lbs however I haven't lost anything for the past month. I also don't really think or know that Phentermine is even doing anything for me anymore and wonder if I should continue taking it. I'm also wondering if people who experience this drop off of the benefit of phentermine have ever used it and then gone without it and then used it again. Is it effective this way and how long do you have to be off of it for it to jump start your metabolism again.

I've been taking 15 mg so I'm not sure about the 30 mg but... I lost 20 lbs in 2 months when I couldn't lose anything before. I eat a good diet and exercise intensely (70-80% of target heart rate) w/ strength training 4-5 days per week. It really gave me a lot of energy and greatly reduced my appetite at first. But that only seemed to last the way I wanted it to about 2-3 weeks. As far as the dose, I would go w/ the smallest one that works because of possible side effects. I didn't get jittery and had no problems sleeping like most people do, no increased irritability noticed either but my blood pressure did go up and I've had to keep an eye on it carefully. Hope that info helps. By the way, I'm not sure if Phentermine is even doing anything for me now or not. For the past month (I've taken it since March) I haven't noticed the things I did when I first started taking it including weight loss.

That's interesting I hadn't thought of that. I take one every other day, a very small dose. My doc's reasoning for using Prozac w/ Phentermine he stated was because a lot of people lose weight on Phentermine but then gain it right back once they go off of it and the Prozac kind of balances out that effect. I have a new GP now so maybe I'll ask him about it, I'm going tomorrow. I hate the Prozac anyway, I'm sweating like crazy now and have switched deoderant like 4 times since I've been on it to keep from being smelly. That's not like me at all. Thanks for the advice. I'll try to let you know

I have tried it a couple of times. I LOVE to exercise and I do so about an hour a day 5 to 6 days a week. I have ALWAYS gained weight taking Phen and drugs like it. Weird huh? I have talked to my dr on several occasions about it, and no one can seem to understand why. My thyroid is fine, and everything else is fine. Weird. I am going to try the so-called alternative to gastric bypass (I dont even come CLOSE to being heavy enough for it), it is called Zetacap. We shall see. Has anyone else had this problem? Too weird.

I actually am off Prozac now and just taking Phentermine. Thing is, I haven't lost any weight that I wouldn't have lost otherwise lately due to diet and exercise. I'm at the point where I would go off of it but I think it is helping me with my energy and I've just been diagnosed w/ lupus and have serious energy problems. I'm going to stick with it until I get some medication for that and then I'm off it. But I would definetely use it again in the future but I don't think I'd use it for longer than one month at a time.

I used it when it was perscribed with the Fen part and the two together made me a twiggy. I went from 131 to 114 and it was fat that I lost...no muscle tone.
Now I am in my 40s, last winter I was eating non stop and I was afraid I was going to put on weight so I ordered it off the internet. I had to lie about my weight to get it sent to me. It helped me get my appetite down, summer came and everything was cool however, I noticed I lost muscle tone.
I only took it for a couple of weeks and then took a pill on really hungry days. Your body becomes used to it so unless you are starting a full weight loss regimen and are committed to changing your lifestyle, I would not take it. After your body becomes use to it, it will not supress your appetite.
I know we all need a crutch, especially sometimes to get our weight loss jump started and once you start to see results...you are motivated by those results. Also, after about one month of eating less, you are not going to have the same appetite so hopefully you won't even need a appetite suppressant.
Be careful, sometimes the stuff you get off the internet is of an inferior quality. Good Luck!

if the doc prescribed you phentermine than you should have a prescription in hand. no you cannot get phentermine over the counter. its only avaiable if you have a prescrition or if you buy it off the net, dont know of any thing that really works but pehntermine works well for a good jump start diet.
the only problem is it stops working after a month or so. and please be aware of all the symptoms that can accure with phentermine. i didnt like the way i felt when i was on them. good luck with your weight loss.

Hi Everyone, I took one phentermine pill when I got them and it made me feel really funny so I didn't take anymore but after much advice on cutting it in half and alot of research online and talking to some other pharmacist I have decided to cut the pill in half and start taking them today. Half early in the morning about 7 and then about 3 in the evening. I also take celexa so I was worried about taking them together. I have to say I feel a little funny but nothing like I did when I took the whole pill. My pills are 37.5 mgs. I'm doing the low carb diet with only having 20 calories a day. I know it's going to be hard but I also know if I set my mind to it I can achieve it. I am wanting to lose a good 70 pounds. I am 26 years old and relized I don't want to spend my life being miserable. Being overweight affects me so much more than just appearance. I have NO self eestem at all. I don't want to go out and do anything. I feel as if I am a prisoner in my own body and the real me is just waiting to get out. If I do lose weight I can't let 10 pounds go to my head cause before when I lost 10 pounds I let it go to my head and got all excited and just started eating badly again. Not this time though. I'm done. I want to feel good about myself and accomplish something in my life that means alot to me. I want others to see how I feel on the inside and not judge me by apperance. I'm ready to do this and I'm going to start going to a gym for just woman here in my town which is something I would have never did before because of people making fun of me(thats just what I thought in my head).
So I'm gonna need alot of support. I hope everyone is doing good and please send good thoughts my way.

West Virginia Gal--
So sorry to hear the phentermine makes you feel icky!! Good to hear your attitude is still in the right place though, my thoughts and best wishes to you. I took Phentermine for 3 months (15 mg) and with diet and exercise too lost almost 25 lbs but then it just didn't work after that, it really wears off quickly or did in my experience anyway. I felt great when I was on it and had a lot of energy but I have energy / fatigue problems which I'm learning are due to chronic illness. Good luck to you in meeting your health goals! Take care

Hi...I am new to this board, was wanting to hear what others have experience with phentermine. I read alot of posts and can relate to some. I have been taking it for 9 days now and have lost 5lbs. I didn't go to my doc to get it, I ordered it from the net. I am taking the 37.5mg, just once per day in the am when I wake up. It gives me lots of energy, makes me not hungry at all, but I know I have to eat something. I drink lots of water. I tried diet pills before and they DID work for me, I started out taking Xenadine RFA-1, after a while I felt they werent doing anything for me, so I switched to Stacker 2, stayed on that til Ephedra was banned. Lost 65lbs with it though. Needless to say since it was banned and I could not get it anymore I gained 20lbs back. Thats why I started phentermine. So now I wanna lose 40 lbs, hoping this will work. So far so good. I have noticed that I am very irritable now, I get irritated easy. I hope this will go away, I dont like to be a b*tch LOL. I plan on taking it for 2 months then stopping for a while and going back on it. I read on some site thats how you should do it. My Xenadrine bottle said the same thing. To me, the phentermine gives me the same effects that the stacker 2's and xenadrine did. Can't figure that out...since ephedra was banned from diet pills then I know its not in the phen. I also have been feeling sick on my stomach a lil. Not every day though, just sometimes. Anyone else have this feeling? Thanks for the help and good luck to all, hope we achieve our goal!!!!

I have both heard good things about Phenermine, and I have used it myself. I was a bit nervous about taking it. I went to the gym 5 or 6 days a week (which only ended up making my body freak out anyway) and finally in early june of this year, I went to my doc and asked for her help. She prescribed Phentermine. I kept up my workout thing, except I started going just every other day. I took the pills, and within a month, I lost 8 pounds. So that was nice. I had to stop taking it cause I got pregnant, but when the baby comes, I will go back on it. At first, I felt so weird - all jittery, and had this feeling of being on meth or something....it was weird. But it is completely normal and it subsided within about 10 days.
Do some research, weigh your options, and then go from there. But above all, DO NOT rely on them to lose that weight. Odds are, you wont drop 50 pounds in a month or whatever. Moderation is the key. If you lose it fast, you will gain it back fast. And then some.
Good luck....Let us know how it is going!!

I know exactly how you feel west virginia girl. I feel the same way. When I lost the 65 lbs I felt great, always wanted to go shopping and buy new clothes cause Iknew I looked good and I felt good about myself. Since ephedra was banned I gained some weight back and now I feel just how I did before I lost weight. I feel like hiding all the time. The phentermine seems to be working. Taking them for 2 weeks now, havent weighed myself anymore yet, but in the first week I lost 5 lbs. I tried taking half of the 37.5 mg yesterday and end of the day I was feeling hungry, even after I had already ate so today I took a whole. Guess I will stick with the whole. Good Luck to you and I am here if ya need some support!

I seem to have zero willpower but I'm still hangin it there. I was wondering if the Phentermine made you feel yucky and really sleepy? I was taking them and stopped then tried cutting them in half and last night I made up my mind I was going to give them another try. Before I would feel like I had a cold or something just felt really bad taking them. But this time that feeling isn't bad but I have no energy and I am so sleepy. I also take Celexa and a thryoid medication. My thryoid doctor say I don't have a underactive thryiod or and overactive one,but it was working to hard and producing a goiter so I thought that was an overactive thryoid. I dunno. As far as the celexa I am going to try and get off of them very slowly with my docs help. I just didn't know if these medications could contribute to the phentermine making me soooooo sleepy.
I wish you the absolute best of luck!
Christin
08-09-2004, 06:48 PM
I don't know why they would make you sleepy...they are supposed to have the exact opposite effect! They usually make people very hyper...they are an "upper"...many people start having trouble going to sleep when they are on them. And many people use them (or mis-use them!) to KEEP them awake all night, like to study in school and stuff. I would check the label to see if you aren't supposed to take them with thyroid meds or celexa. :)

Hiya WVG, no they dont make me sleepy at all, gives me lots of energy and I hardly can sit still LOL. Everyone reacts differant, so I'm not sure why it makes you sleepy. Makes me very thirsty also, have to drink lots and lots of water. Thanks and I wish you the best of luck also. Stick with it, you CAN do it!!!!

I have asked alot of different pharmacist about taking the celexa and phentermine together and some say no and others say it's ok just watch the blood pressure.
I don't know what the deal is but I have no energy at all. I am just so sleepy. This morning when I took half of my celexa I layed down and slept 5 hours after just waking up. So I'm hoping this will go away very soon.

Did you order the phentermine from the net, or got it from your dr? Was thinking if you got it from you dr, then you could ask him about it and explain to him what it does to you, maybe he would have an answer.

Hi there:) I know this is kind of late, but I wanted you to know that I have also taken phen and I also start back on it tomorrow. What I wanted to say is that I can only take it for one month. It only works for one month for me. The doctor told me this happens to some people. I'm not sure exactly why, but this could be the case for you. Another thing I thought about was that maybe you should up the dose again and see what it does. But, ask your doctor first before you attempt this. Another diet pill that works good that I have been on is Didrex. It doesn't make me moody at all and it actually helps me concentrate. Hope this helps:)

I ordered my medicine off the net and have just took it a couple times, maybe six times all together and I took the other half of my pill last night and was so sick about 20 minutes after I took it. My head feels spacey,I feel clammy all over and just so sleepy. Like I have a cold or something. So I am guessing it must be the Celexa and the Phentermine that I just can't take together. Now my head is hurting and I still feel sick to my stomach.
Thank you both for replying=)

Hi hun:) Sometimes the phen can make your stomach upset when you first start taking it. You may also want to try to take your medicines at different times. Like..........take the phen in the morning and the celexa at night. I've been on Didrex before while on Lexapro which is almost the same as Celexa and it worked great for me. I had no weird side affects, but I was spacing them out. I never took them together. You should also take the phen everyday and not skip a day. Skipping a day makes the medication go out of your system and you have to start all over again when you do take it. This is what my doctor told me. I hope this helps a little:)

Thank you Chantel:)
I go to the doctor Friday and I'm going to talk with her about it. I take celexa and a thyroid pill at 8:00 in the morning and then at 10:00 I take the phentermine and then for the rest of the day I'm sick. Can't do anything I curl up in bed. Then about 5:00 I take the other half of my 37.5 pill. I cut them in half cause I thought maybe the whole pills was to much and thats why I felt sick. Then at 9:00pm when I take my last two celexa for the night then I get even sicker. Dunno whats wrong with me. I am going to try and get off this Celexa anyway but it will be a long time for me to step down off of it. And this thyroid pill I take, well I don't know much about it other then my doctor is trying to see what mgs I need it at to helpe shrink a goiter. :bouncing: it's all just to much...I feel like bouncing up and down like this little guy till it all gets figured out...lol

west virginia girl,
Guess what? I am on thyroid medication too, lol. How weird is that? I just got diagnosed with Hypothyroid and I am taking Synthroid. Okay, I need to tell you this because this is very important. I didn't know about this until my aunt informed me. You are not supposed to mix your thyroid pill with your celexa or any other medication. Did you know that? You are supposed to take it early in the morning 1 hour before you eat anything(if you do eat breakfast). I don't. It's supposed to be taken on an empty stomach and NOT mixed with any other pills. My family doctor never told me this and I was mixing pills with it and I was also feeling sick and dizzy. I would wake up sick to my stomach and just felt really weird and didn't know why. My aunt finally told me that I was not supposed to mix any medicines with the thyroid medicine. I recently got referred to an endocronologist. They specialize in thryroid and I asked them about it. They told me the same thing..........that I shouldn't be mixing anything with the thyroid pill, so now I take it early in the morning. I set my clock and wake up to take it, then I take my phen between 10-12am depending on what time I get up, lol. I take my Lexapro around 8pm, then my nerve pill at about 11pm. So, as you can see, I am also on many medications. Talk to your doctor about what I said and try it and see if it helps. I bet this is your whole problem. Let me know:)

Hi  I'm still on here reading post...lol been on here for quite sometime now. My endocronologist never said anything about taking my thyroid pill with my celexa. He just said take it on an empty stomach. I don't feel bad when I take them together but I am going to talk to my other doctor about it friday. Thanks for the info. My head is pounding right now. But I can't sleep. I have slept all day anyway.

Well, I hope you figure out what is going on soon hun. Believe me, I know how you feel. I have panic attacks along with this thyroid problem.........plus the weight. It gets frustrating sometimes, so just hang in there. Maybe a different weight loss medicine will work better. Let me know how your doctor's visit goes. Good luck:)

I'll have alot to tell probably this friday when I do go to the doctor. I'll either be satisfied with my doctor or totally hate her. Sometimes she's ok and other time I can't stand her. Maybe it's time for a new doctor :D

LOL, I say that all the time too. My family doctor has great bedside manners, but he is terrible about following up with patients. He gives me prescriptions with refills. It's good in a way because I don't have to keep going back especially if it's minor, but for my thryoid, panic attacks, and my weight..........I wish he was more concerned.

Hi Chantel...When I go to the doctor this friday I am going to ask her if she can give me a second opinion on my thyroid. I have another doctor for that and I want a second opinion on what he is saying. Because it doesn't make much sense to me. I also want to start stepping down off my Celexa and get on something better for Ocd. I think after thats under control my depression and anxiety will be also. And last but never least my weight...I'm going to ask her about prescribing me something safe for me to take to help curb my appetite. No miracle drugs I know but I feel I need something. I wonder if the celexa and my thyroid problem makes it harder to lose weight. I just have some questions I need to ask her so hopefully she'll take the time to listen and help me.

Hi and Welcome Chozn
Yes please let us know how everything goes. Some on here are against taking phentermine but others have wonderful things to say about it. But you do know that if it does work for you and you can take it that its only a short term medicine you can take and that it's not going to be a long term solution to weight loss. I wish I could take it. I ordered it and everything but it makes me sick. But that could be because of the other meds I have to take.
Take Care and Keep posting:)

yes, I've read this entire thread and I remember that it had negative effects on you. I'm sorry to hear that. I'll be 26 in January and I'm almost 50lbs overweight and 5'2". After the birth of my 4th child approx. 2 years ago, I haven't lost but 3lbs collectively, but I did lose 20lbs being on Stackers w/ephedra during that time. I've been trying to workout as much as possible and being smarter about what I eat. I'm a waitress, so that tends to wipe out the motivation to workout because I need the energy for work. I also have the habit of "cleaning my plate" which I was taught when I was a kid, so even when I'm full, I have a tendency to eat. Plus, my fiance likes to feed me, so it's hard to say no to him. Not to mention my working a graveyard shift!aghh... and there it all is. It's so obvious that I eat for comfort due to stress. Alot of ppl who know me from previous years say I'm not fat, but I know that I am and it's depressing alot of times because the clothes don't fit me right.Ppl who've known me extensively totally agree, not in a negative manner but truthfully, but I don't need to be told. Sorry for the rant if you gave up reading, I understand.
well, I just want to see some results and I've changed alot of habits so I know the weight loss is only permanent if I discipline myself. I will keep you posted. thank you again for making me feel welcome. :)

I totally admire you having four children and a job! I think you get enough exercise with that alone! Don't think I could do it. I hope if you do get the phentermine it works for you. And whenever you need to rant go right ahead. Sometimes just getting things out helps. I have to get on here and just let everything out from time to time cause I get so frustrated with myself with losing weight.
Keep in Touch.....:)

I need to lose 40lbs. after being dx hypothyroid, and crying to my doc-he finally gave in and gave me a 1 month supply. he said thats all he'll give me. i dont know if its the phen, or the increase in my thyroid med, but i havent felt this good in a year!!! so much energy. i clean my house like a maniac, and just feel better knowing i have a little "boost" now! i hope to get great results. I eat very low carb, and was excited to see that I've finally got my body back into keotosis!!!!(i luv watching those stix turn purple) i also have the energy to excercise every night. anyone whos hypo knows that its hard to do anything let alone excercise.

Hi Toni
I'm glad to hear the phentermine is working for you. I wish I could take it but it makes me sick. I have a goiter but I don't know which catergory that falls into. My doctor says I don't have hyper or hypo but that my thryroid is working over time to maintain itself where it's suppose to be and its causing a goiter. I don't understand this though. I am hoping once I get everything situated with my thyroid and hopefully get off the antidepressant I will be able to take the phentermine. I sure could use some energy. I have no energy whatsoever. I could sleep 24 hours a day if my family would let me..LOL. I just feel so run down all the time. But I am glad the phentermine is helping you. Just remember it's not for long term use and always use with caution as with any drugs.
Take Care:)

Hi again hun:) I am just wondering if you made it to the doctor and if he/she put you on anything? I started taking my weight loss pills and have lost 8 pounds in 1 week! I've also been excercising too though. It takes all I have because I am exhausted again from my thyroid, but I force myself now. I think the pills helps with my energy level too. It gets me up and going and by God do I like to talk now, lol. I can talk and talk and talk on these pills. Sheesh!
Anyway, let me know what the doc said:)

I went to the doctor the other day and she didn't tell me anything that I hadn't already told her...she just agreed with me so nothing was really accomplished. She did order me to have another ultra sound done on my thyroid(goiter) and I had that done yesterday. I currently take celexa was on 60mgs now I'm down to 40. I want to get off of it if at all possible because I think thats alot of my weight problem also. Just don't know how great I will do without it. My thyroid doctor I see seperatly from my regular doctor put me on Levoxyl. I am taking the lowest dose possible to see if that is going to shrink the goiter. So I'm just kinda waiting to see how everything turns out.

I took phen about 5 years ago and boy did I sweat up a storm. I remember thinking I should carry a mop around with me. I also lost about 40 lbs. I have low blood pressure so no problems there. My doctor doesn't like to prescribe it but does when I feel I need some help. I never stay on it for too long, maybe a few months at a time. My doctor says when I stop losing weight (level off) I have to go off of it. I also have to go see him once a month for him to get my weight and give new prescription. If you order it online you need to be careful. I am lucky to have no problems but some people can't take it. It's better if you get it from your doc because then you are more closely monitored. Good Luck!! :)

I am currently taking 30mg of Phentermine. I have been taking it for about a month now. I have only lost 6 pounds. It seems like it only worked for 1 week. During the first week I did not obsess about food and had some trouble sleeping. After the first week I was back to obsessing and snacking. I also did not have any more problems sleeping. I know the effects can wear off, but after only a week! Except for having some sleep problems the first week (which is pretty normal for me anyways) I have not had any side effects. Unfornately, no weight loss either. I also take Levoxyl for my thyroid. Any thoughts on way the phentermine quit working so fast? Any suggestions on a different pill to try?

Chantel,
My sister-in-law takes Didrex and it seems to work for her. She is taking it twice a day. How many times a day do you take it. I was thinking about giving Didrex a try since my sister-in-law has had success with it. Hopefully it will actually work for more then a week, unlike the phentermine. When my doctor prescribed the phentermine, he said there was no way that I could not lose weight on it. He said it would increase my metobolism and I would actually have to eat a lot more just go stay the same. Yeah, right! I am still taking the phentermine, and actually gained back a few of the pounds that I lost that first week.

Hi  How did the screentest for the modeling go? Hope you hear something today about phentermine. I just can't take the stuff but think it's probably because of the celexa I take. And after reading all the things it can cause I just told myself to forget about it. But in a couple years they will probably say the celexa and thyriod medicine I take causes something extremely bad also. Sometimes I feel like I'm looking at the edge of the mountain just waiting to fall off :D Seems like things just get harder everyday when it comes to losing weight.

hello again! well, my son was extremely shy, but he remembered his lines and he did pretty well. i doubt that he may get picked because he didn't seem to enthused, but at least we shared this experience! well, i got a two weeks prescription of phen, half blue and half yellow, 30mg. i took one and haven't had a side effect, except for when i was walking to class briskly, i started to sweat, but that was all. i let my fiance try one blue and he said he's having alot of energy, running around at work and keeping busy! so we'll see. i will only let him try one, seeing that it is prescription and if he wants it bad, then he should see the doc about it. i do understand the negatives, but find it well worth a try. well, i have to run errands right now before target closes, so i'll keep ya posted. bye for now. :wave

I've used phen and adipex on a few different occasions, mostly after the birth of my children. It has always worked for me, although it is only a short term product. If you read any research papers, they explain that the affects of the appetite suppressant wear off anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks. It has been several years in between each time that I have taken the prescription. In addition, I could never get a doctor to prescribe phen for me because I was not considered obese. Although, being 5'3'' and 162lbs. is certainly a large amount to carry around on a small frame. So I purchased it online. It came out to about the same price as a doctor visit and the prescription normally would cost. It's not for everyone, but it worked for me. :D

Hi Sspicey:)
A lot of weight to me was 30 pounds. I lost 30 pounds in less than 3 months. I did not reach my goal weight because I wound up in the hospital and had to get off of all medications. If you stick to it though and it works for you, you can probably do well on it. Always let your doctor know what medications you are taking though because some can interact with others.
