Hi,

I am a 32 y/o man.

For about 6 weeks I have had on/off flu like symptoms, particularly last week when I was bedridden, with ulcerated throat. I have also noticed a hard painless swelling in my left parotid area (i.e. behind my jawline under my left ear) that has been there at least 4 weeks. Been to docs a couple of times who said I had had a throat infection but bit concerned it may be more than that. I go swimming quite a lot and think maybe I have caught something from that. I also feel like i have a lot of pressure in my sinuses and my ears often feel quite blocked. I also had quite a lot of tension - type headaches a couple of months ago but I put those down to my osteopath treatment.

Should I worry about the parotid swelling as a separate issue? Just tested HIV negative for life insurance so that rules that out.

Going for a blood test on Friday but any ideas would be welcome.

Thanks
