I recently got a really bad upper resp infection that turned into bronchitis. For 3 weeks I have been treated with Antibiotics including Levequin, plus predisone, qvar, abuterol nebulizer treatments nasaal spray... I am somewhat better but it seems to have knocked my Asthma out of control. I have horrible coughing attacks, feeling that I can't catch my breath and trouble sleeping because when I lay done the coughing gets worse.I am still expelling phlegm when I cough. I very seldom have trouble with my asthma - last spring I used my inhaler 3 times only. Will I have be normal again? Or am I going to have to live like this for the rest of my life? Which the way I feel now may not be very long.

Hang in there - and keep talking to your doctor. Respiratory infections can definitely wreak havoc with asthma, and it takes longer to bounce back because you've got to knock out the infection and then get your asthma back under control. Eventually you should get back to where you were before the infection but it may take a few more weeks.
