Is endometriosis an auto immune disorder? I've never heard that before. I have it, but no one's ever said that to me?

I have Addison's Disease, Cataracts, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Costochondritis, Fibromyalgia, Folic Acid Anemia, Gastritis, Gilbert's Syndrome, Hypothyroidism, Iron Deficient Anemia, Meniere's Disease, Mitral Valve Prolapse, Multiple Sclerosis, Osteoporosis, ernicious Anemia, Polyglandular Autoimmune Failure, and Premature Atrial Contractions.

The ones that aren't autoimmune in nature are caused by the meds to treats them... like the cataracts and osteoporosis.

Now they are conisdering either Lupus or autoimmune hepatitis or some other liver dysfunction.

I, too, have been diagnosed with many things over the years, including chronic fatigue, hypothyroidism, endometriosis, and a host of others. I was most recently diagnosed with antiphospholipid antibody syndrome (Lupus antibody, Hughes Syndrome) and was ironically relieved once I started doing some research and finding out many of the symtoms leading to the multitude of previous diagnosis fall under the new catagory.I was starting to think I was a hypo-chondriac (and I think my doc was, too). Has anyone else been diagnosed with this?

Know the feeling about hypochondria! Every time I see a new doctor, I end up with yet another syndrome, phenomenon, disease, disorder, etc to add to the list. (SLE, RA, Raynaud's, Sjogren's, PCOS, Poland Syndrome, Endometriosis, and they are throwing around Fibromyalgia)

I've been complaining about fatigue for a couple of years now - it's been getting progressively worse. Whether I sleep 8 hours or 2 hours a night, I am completely worn out in the morning. Had sleep studies done that reveal no sleeping abnormalities. So my doctors referred me to..

I saw a hematologist last week for 3 hours - took them (4 of them) that long to get my medical history and ask questions related to it. Then they took 24 vials of blood - so you know that they are going to come up with at least a couple of new problems for me.

I too have endometriosis - had a laproscopy done about 10 years ago when the doctor said I had none. Had another one done a few months ago - it was everywhere -turns out I had "atypical endometriosis" - it was all over my bladder, kidneys and other organs, in addition to being inside my uterus...

I have had Addison's Disease for 20 years now and need proof that the long-term steroid use has caused osteoporosis, joint and muscle pain. Do you know where I can get any proof?

There are over 100 autoimmune diseases and endometriosis has finally been classified with them. Once you have 1 of them, you tend to "collect" more. Lucky us.

I was first diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Right now my levels on that are so high my doctor said that it maxed out the test so he doesn't really know how bad it is. They say my B12 deficiency is probably autoimmune because they have tested for everything else that might cause it. I have a condition where my body attacks the top of my esophogus and causes the muscles to painfully constrict. That is always fun to explain to people that you dont have the flu you just sometimes throwup everything in your stomach. I also have polycystic ovarian syndrome which they say is autoimmune and they are blaming the IBS on autoimunne again because they can't find anyother cause and I seem to have many autoimmune diseases. I blame my problems on the Army. when I was about one and 1/2 years old my dad was stationed in Japan and my mom says they loaded us up with all kinds of vaccine shots. this was about 1971. then when I got there I got sick and they didn't know what it was so they gave my mother a huge bottle of antibiotics and told her to keep me on them for the 6 months we were expected to be there. Like I said the doctors can always seem to find a new disease I have but can never help with the fatigue. currently they think I might have addisons or something related to the adrenal glands. My next round of tests include cortisol testing.
