hi guys i was not sure where to post this so put it here, my partner is on holiday with friends while im at home and he fell and broke his shoulder he texted me to tell me what happened he went to hospital the next morning because the he could see the bone pushing the skin to forum a lump where the bone is pushing out wards. well he went to hospital and has texted me since to say that the doctor has bandaged it up and said he might need an operation when he gets home to fix it they did an xray but told him not to worry about going home from his holiday early but to go when he gets home. my question is what do they do when you break your shoulder and why is an operation needed? do they set it in a cast? i have no idea about broken shoulders so im after as much advice as possiable.

thanks in advance.

if no one has posted its probably because the people viewing did not know the answer to your question, try to be paitent and a little more grateful please, in answer to your question im the shoulder joint has come out of the ball socket an operation will be needed to slot it back in and then the shoulder will be put in a cast while it heals, im not sure what you mean by broken if any of the bone are broken an operation will most likely still be needed unfortunatly.
