View Full Version : Worried about daughter's chronic headaches

My 18 year old daughter has been suffering from daily headaches since mid July - to make a long story short, her primary care doc suggested a few weeks ago that she go to Urgent Care, as she was booked at that time for about 10 days out - my daughter went to urgent care, was told it sounded like rebound headaches, she put her on a medication normally used for arthritis (but it's been found effective for headaches), and told her to quit all OTC meds - she then was told to follow-up with reg doc two weeks later, which was the other day -

Her primary care doc told her to quit the previously prescribed med and put her on a med normally used for hypertension, and told her to follow up in 2 weeks again - if she's not better, then she will order an MRI - I am a worrier, and I keep trying to think positive, since she has no other symptoms - (of course I'm worried about worst case scenarios, ie, tumor, cancer, etc.)

She has had no vomiting, nausea, etc. I guess I'm frustrated that an MRI hasn't been suggested already to rule out anything bad - it's also hard when the new med is only 1 time a day (in the evening), and on Friday she was in tears at 3 pm wanting to take something!

Any thoughts or reassurance would be great!

thanks!
