My son was complaining his hands and feet were hurting last night. They looked red and swollen to me. This morning he woke up with red blotchy spots all over his body and his hands and feet still look swollen. He complains they hurt. He's walking funny. He's had all his vaccinations

Has he been playing outside where he could have come in contact with poison ivy, poison oak or poison sumac? Those most likely attack the hands (from touching it) and feet (from walking in it). While those rashes most likely itch, they can become painful if a person is super sensitive or if scratching it.
Try some calamine lotion on it. Do not let him scratch the rash. If it starts to spread significantly, get him in for a doctor visit.
Let us know how it goes!
