Hi, I have been playing soccer and I noticed after one game my right knee was in some pain. When I look down on my right knee and feel the left side on my knee cap there seems to be some pain in there. not enough to make me scream but some discomfort.
Also when I bend my leg up and down I feel it as well. I can walk pretty fine and when I went to see the doctor he said just give it a couple weeks and it should be feeling better if not to come back and see him. After about a week it has been feeling alot better.
I was wondering if anyone could give some info to what the pain is and how long until it would heal completely? Thanks

Sounds similar to an episode of tendonitis I had last year, and I didn't rest it and I ended up hurting it even worse. If you find it difficult or painful to climb stairs, jump, or make a kicking motion then you should rest your knee for a few weeks or it will continue to degenerate and become more painful; regular icing and anti-inflammatory meds will help if it hurts in the long term.
If you feel 100%, try playing again. If it comes back, rest it for the full amount of time.
