I don't need an organ (yet) but I'm really concerned about the lack of donor organs. Does anybody know who I should contact about volunteering, or fundraising? Please provide me with links, if you know of any.

I'd like to add that my health is OK right now. I'm not facing transplant anytime soon. But I'm concerned about this issue. I would like to advocate for this cause.

I, too have had to face up to the possibility of a kidney transplant, and went through the transplant counseling. It left me with the feeling that your best bet is to find your own kidney donor. I was planning on having my own kidney drive in my community, if the time came. At this point my kidney function has improved, so I haven't done it, and I encourage you to check all your options...this is just my two cents.

Beyond that, I just wanted you to know that I feel for you, and praise you for thinking ahead, and being pro-active in your health care.
