I recently bought a few organic things and without mentioning the price (wow) I really dont see the point of eating organic. As far as nutrition, some of the things I bought was very high in calories and sodium....so can somebody clue me in as to the point of it all?!?!

Organic simply means natural.

There are a couple of meanings, though when it comes to food. Food that is not processed is organic. "Organic" also can refer to food grown without chemicals.

It's of GREAT benefit to eat organically.Food is processed way too much, stripped of it's nutrients, than added back in chemically .We absorb organic nutrients more efficiently.

Food is not only about calories and what can make you gain wieght, etc. It's about obtaining sufficient nutrition and processed food lacks that. An avocado is a bit high in calories but the nutrition gained by eating it is valuable. How we feel, think , look and function all depend on good nutrition.

There is a wealth of information about nutrition out there. Courses are offered. It may pay to take a class or read a few books about how food works. It's quite an enjoyable subject ! Best wishes.

I have been eating organic for the past few days and despite the fact that it is a little pricy I feel so much better. maybe its all in my head I dunno! what do u make with avocados? I'm still trying to create more organic meals versus buying those microwave organic meals (which are very good)
