I have been so ill for over a month and even had to call an ambulance once because I could not get out of bed. Doctors can't "find anything wrong" though some have said that I have a bacterial infection called pelvic inflammatory disease. One doc even saw pus draining from my cervix. If that is not a sign of illness, what is? Other docs won't believe it because PID is generally sexually transmitted and I have been faithful to my husband of 6 years. I was under the impression that there is a such thing as a clinical diagnosis of PID, and that it can occur in monogamous women from an overgrowth of bacteria. That is what I believe I had and am finally getting over after strong antibiotics that made me very sick. Anyway, I only weigh 95 pounds and am feeling better but still don't have an appetite. Why wouldn't they admit me to the hospital??? I really really felt that they should. I have good insurance. Now I am really concerned and scared about healthcare these days. Why are people sent home sick? That should never be. People who are too sick to take care of themselves should be able to stay in the hospital for a time until they are well enough to care for themselves again regardless of what the "tests" show

I agree with you. I myself suspect that I have P.I.D for a long time now. Let's say 5 years. In any case, I just got clinically diagnosed with Pelvic Inflammatory Disease or P.I.D. The doctor is treating me with Floxin, a new medication to treat P.I.D. I have 3 refills so basically I will be on this antibiotic for 3 months however, Yahweh forbid, but if it does not go away OR it goes away and comes back, then just like you, I too believe that I should be hospitalized. And I'm half afraid that I will not if treatment doesn't work or re-occurs. The only option I can think of, and it's a sad option, is that even though you have good medical insurance, lot's of times these doctors will do anything for you IF YOU PAY CASH UP FRONT. That's the same thing that happened to this girl I know, she had terrible abdominal pain and she had medical insurance. She knew something was wrong and kept on going from doctor to doctor to doctor and each one of them, though she had medical insurance turned her down and told her that there was nothing wrong with her. They did pelvic sonograms and nothing was seent on this pelvic sonogram. Finally, her boyfriend gave her $2,000 to go to a Gynecologist Specialist. She paid upfront to this doctor, And would you believe that in that one visit, that doctor diagnosed that girl with Ovarian Cyst. She said all he did was use his finger and inserted his finger in her during the pelvic exam and automatically he told her right then and there that she had an Ovarian Cyst and probably one of her tubes were blocked. Now of course he scheduled surgery and during the surgery, sure enough, his diagnoses was confirmed and he removed the cyst, un-bloced her fallopian tube and removed some scar tissue. ALL BECAUSE SHE PAID. And she had insurance. This is really sad but in many cases, that's just the way it is. It's sad and unfair but if you really want help and are tired of going from doctor to doctor even though you have good insurance. Then it's best you just pay and avoid the drama and be healed. It's sad but if I were you, just PAY. Get well.
