Just wondering how the HBOT went for you, is this tank completely enclosed? I'M NOT CLAUSTREPHOBIC but I am curious, I see my ID doc on Wed, and I will suggest this again, I have made it for 6 days without breaking out in a sweat, I am curious to see my latest blood results, maybe I finally got this f'in thing on the run, don't I hope, I hope you are dealing with the paain, Wwhat do you take, I find that methadone is best for me. I go mia when pain gets real bad, I hope this is not happening to you too, I wouldn't wish this pain on my worst enemy, I'm sure you know what I mean. Hoping to hear from you soon, Your friend,

How kind of you to ask http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wink.gif

Still waiting for all the docs to get their "stuff" together before I enter the chamber. I had the option of a monochamber or multi. I chose the mono - I am fighting this illness with a lot of meditation and I am not claustrophobic either, however!!, one never knows until one enters the chamber... muhahaha

I am a fighter and for the most part I have good days and bad days. I cannot tolerate any pain meds, and so have gone through this thing with none. It's been HELL! Just had my one year wedding anniversary - nice way to spend the first year ;(

Anyhow, I am getting another PICC line in before the chamber, so waiting on the callbacks.

Please tell me more about your back - do you have hardware in there? Are you thinking of suing anyone? How the heck did you get that in your vertebrae? I am checking more on gemella haemolysans for you and will post some research links in hopes the moderators do not edit and erase it.

Hi Tryingtofeelgood, I contracted this infection from a discogram,it is a diagnostic test in which they put dye and pressure into disc to see if it has tears and to see if they can tell if this is where pain is coming from, I have 2 badd discs L-4-5 and L-5-S-1 that I injured while delivering beer in 11-00, smart job for an alcoholic, huh, 2 years sober anyway, They did emergency discectomy ,debridement and fusion of L-3-4 where the infection settled at in 12-02. I am still having symptoms and elevated levels in bloodwork, so infection still present. I have checked with 3 law firms, but no good since I singned a consent to treat paper saying infection was a risk, the doc assured me a slight risk, just my luck!!!My ortho surgeon has not put any hardware in yet, but now since no fusion after 9 months , he wants to debride and put in hardware at L-3-4. but I'm still left with 2 other bad discs and want him to correct all when he does surgery, but he won't aknowledge 2 other discs being bad!!!! I hate docs almost as much as lawyers!!!!Sorry to hear you can't tolerate pain meds,I would have commited suicide if they did not contol my pain,It is just too unbearable, have you ever tried methadone? I have tried about all the pain meds available and this one relieves the pain without feeling high all the time. Neurontin helps with the nerve pain also and it's not addictive, and it also is a mood elevater. I hope you kick this nasty infection soon as I also do, here's wishing you a pain reduced day, thanks for all the info, it has been much appreciated also,,, Your friend.

Rick - you have some story there! I am hoping the methodone eases your pain. I suggest going here: http://www.diseasesdatabase.com/sieve/item1.asp?glngUserChoice=32921 and also do a medical search. There are some antibiotics that can help this - keep reading and researching! You found this site http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wink.gif I will continue to research your yucky bacteria you are hosting... I will also ask my oral surgeon what he would suggest as an antibiotic therapy for that bacteria - it is rare, Rick - you are right on that one and we must rid you of it!! Ask if you can get into HBO while you are healing - it is indicated in OSTEOMYELITIS or bone infection. Tell your docs you want you case treated as they would ANY other bone infection. STAY on the antobiotics until ALL pain is gone - the deep bone pain.

I'll be back, thank goodness for the internet, eh?
