What exactly does it mean when my results say...

HSV AB, IGM, BY EIA REACTIVE

Reactive, but not diagnostic.

It means you had the wrong test! Have your doctor pay for it.

The key letters in your post are "IGM", which refers to the type of test. This test is worthless, and will yeild little information. People who test positive on the IgM test may be having an initial outbreak, a recurring outbreak, or NOT have the Herpes virus at all. So, it's really not much help.

It's best to be tested with an IgG type specific blood test, HerpeSelect is the most common in the States.

over21 need your help with test results IGG says positive result of 1.41 read somewhere they retest if its under 3.5? confused
