Just started 2WW today after going thru 2nd IUI with injectible medication.

I too, am in the 2 ww after Pergonal, HCH, and IUI yesterday the 24th. I am on Progesterone lozengers and then I do a booster shot on Saturday with a biopsy (to check uterine lining) next week. My 2ww is actually 18 days til I am supposed to test. Did you have cramping after the IUI? I had major cramping - so bad we could not bd yesterday night. Anyway, I know so many women on the boards are getting ready to test so soon - so exciting! How long have you been trying? jen

I had major cramping after the IUI especially on the right side. that was where I had a 22mm follicle. Supposedly had 3 on the left too. I have been trying to concieve since 12/01 on my own. Just started fertility treatment and this is my 2nd IUI.How long have you been trying. Lets hope we both get preggers!! Would be awesome!!

Dh and I have been ttc since 11/01 so we are in the same time frame as you! I did 4 rounds of Chlomid and this is my first cycle of injectables. Your follicles were much bigger than mine - mine were at 18 and then I had a few smaller ones. Anyway great hearing from you and I look forward to being "cycle buddies" :-) How soon can you test? Hi JLJ, Good luck to you this month. Hopefully this will work for all of us!!
And Mare, the HCG shot is also called the trigger shot and will make you drop those eggies. Usually in a normal cycle you only produce one follicle and drop one egg. This way they all have a chance. My dr's nurse also told me that the HCG would also help mature the follicles a bit as well. I have never had the centrotide and dont know anything about that. And after the last IUI, the dr has me taking 200mg progesterone suppositories at bedtime. They have me continue with those until the day of the beta.

Hi Marie and Mare - great hearing from you girls! Marie when do you test? And Mare are you doing IUI this month? If so, when will you get to test. I test on the 14th of March. I just read some of the other posts and someone tested and got a negative result. Needless to say, she is devastated, to see the least. This can be such a frustrating endeavor... Whenever I hear that someone is testing I get so excited to hear the results - it is so neat how we are able to talk about this and be excited for one another as well as feel one another's heartache... Hi Jen, I am suppose to go in for my beta on Tuesday March 11th. So the last time I was in the 2ww, actually the first week went slow and the 2nd week went by faster. I was talking to DH tonight to try and decide if we are going to do another IUI or just go straight to IVF after this. This would be my 2nd IUI but I will be the big "40" in April and feel like time is running out. Hope the 2ww goes by fast. Take care, Marie

Nothing is covered on my insurance - I was just telling one of the other girls that my first round of injectables - Pergonal, and HCG, along with the u/s and bloodwork and IUI have cost 2000. Hi Jenn and Marie..Jenn I go in for IUI saturday morning then HCG trigger next friday and I suppose some 180.00 screw me exam to see if ovarys enlarged from the drugs http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/eek.gif ( Marie taught me these) http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/biggrin.gif...so I cant even begin to think when my time is up to start testing...I too pay for everything and this is 2nd cycle (1st cycle for 2600.00 ended with day 9 and ovulation be4 time was ready and now Im up to 2900.00 with 3 extra vials of meds and still have to pay 500.00 for the IUI...This cycle has to be the 1 or I am running out of cash and credit!!!! Hi Jen, The beta is just another word for the pregnancy blood test you have at the dr's office. I am the same as you guys, my insurance pays for absolutely nothing. The injectible medication last time alone was 1560.00 and then each ultrasound is 195.00 and each IUI is 258.00. So the first one cost me about 2600.00 in total since I had 3 ultrasounds and 2 IUI's. Mare, I know what you mean about running out of credit. But I think the way I have made it this far is that IUI's are much less then IVF. IVF runs about 4000.00 for meds and 8400.00 for the IVF treatment. I have a friend going to the same dr as me and that is what she paid. She is also the same age as me and is currently pregnant with her first IVF treatment. They put 4 eggs in her and today she goes in for her first ultrasound! Hope to hear from you both soon!! Marie

Hi Mare, Forgot to say good luck to you on your IUI on Saturday!! But I have a question, why are they giving you the HCG trigger shot a week after the IUI. My dr does the HCG shot anywhere from 36-42 hours before the IUI. I usually have first IUI 24 hours after shot(just to make sure there are sperm up there waiting) and then another about 36 hours after that. And my HCG shot is 10,000 units. Do they have you do two HCG shots?

Hi Marie and Mare - I feel so silly not knowing that was what beta meant :-) It was great hearing from you guys - Mare IUI is Saturday huh - good luck! I had real bad cramping that night, and Marie tell me if you are experiencing this- I have a constant full feeling in my belly. Like you know when you hold your pee too long, that feeling you have after you go, well that is how I feel since the IUI on MOnday. ?? Mare let us know how your IUI goes and yes I am doing a booster tomorrow, 7 days after my IUI, and I am doing progesterone lozengers which taste so gross but I know many of you are doing suppostitories so I won;t complain! :-) You girls are lifesavers and I love chatting! Morning girls!..Im looking for to getting back to sleeping normaly in the next 2 weeeks! IUI went smooth, tad pressure then he asked me to go sit in the corner doing a headstand!!! As I was heading to the corner, I LOL'd, DR almost peed LOL and says lay back down and grab knees to chest instead...Foool! Did he actually think I was ready to head stand? Ok girls....Slept all day,, up, cramping,,when i walk, feels like each ovary is taking a step with the leg...I go pee be4 and i got like real lite pinkish spotting and like pieces of tisssue????? Hi Mare - so glad your IUI went well - I had really bad cramping after the IUI, no pinkish stuff as you described... I took a booster shot today of HCG which was weird - they told me to do that 7 days after the IUI.... Anywya, I still have a very full feeling in my stomach kind of like the way it feels after you hold your pee for too long... I cant test til the 14th of March - you will probably test the last week in March, right? Oh gosh, I have my fingers and toes crossed for all of us! Hiya Girls...Ok, Im holding out til Thursday when I go in for B/W and Booster...Nurse said they dont like to put things inside so early after IUI..Then trys to tell me cus of repronex, high estrogen which in trun causes extra CM...I definitely do not believe its extra CM...so we see what happens Thurs..Hope all had wonderful day and Marie, my booops are killing me!!! Hi Mare, Just to let you know, I wouldnt worry about the yeast infection. The first IUI I had, I ended up with a bladder infection and dr said that it wouldnt have any bearing on getting preggo or not. But just wanted to pass that on.
And Jen, I agree with the bloating. I just keep convincing myself there is a little one growing since that's the only excuse I have for my extending stomach.

So I have a question? How soon should I test for pregnancy with a urine test? And are you going to do your own pregnancy test before the dr?

Hi Girls, Hang in there. As far as testing at home goes, I think you have to wait at least 13 days (I have also heard 10) from your IUI or 14 days from the hCG shot, if you had a shot to promote ovulation. Otherwise, the hCG from the shot will give you a (potentially) false positive. From my recollection, the side effects of the shot were exactly like the symptoms of early pregnancy. Sore boobs, bloating, etc.

I had to call my doctor because this fullness in my stomach was so bad - he said it was ovarian hyperstimulation. I go in on Friday for a endometrial biopsy. Marie, your test day is coming so soon! And Mare, yours should be right after mine! My best friend is two months pregnant and she just told everyone at work, today - I cant wait to do that! I guess I have to wait a couple more weeks to try it all over again. The 2ww is the worst because my mind play's tricks on me. Did I feel like this before? I don't remember that feeling. Stuff like that. And then when she comes, it's a big let down.

Hi Girls - It has been an interesting couple of days... Remember that fullness I kept feeling? Well I had called MOnday and they said it was ovarian hyperstimulation. So, Thursday I wake up and the pain is excruciating, such that I am doubled over in pain. So, I call and they take me in right away and do an u/s. The u/s shows I have TONS of cysts, and my ovaries are so large and swollen that they are right next to eachother and they are resting on my bladder. So, they gave me a heavy duty pain med and I missed work on Thursday and Friday. Today I woke up and feel menstrual cramps. I am so frustrated - now if this IUI did not work, I am thinking I may have to go back on the bcp to get rid of the cysts. Anyway, enough about me - Marie? You ready for your test on Monday? Our thoughts are with you! And Mare how is your y. infection? hanging in there? I think it would be too soon for you to be having menstrual cramps, dont you? Have you determined when you test. Oh, I had that booster done last Saturday and it was after that, that I began experiencing discomfort. ??? You will have to let me know how it goes. O frig'n nuts Jenn!!!!...Dam cysts!!!..Did they say they came from the meds or HCG?...Did you get to see the U/S pics?...Im so sorry to hear that. If its not 1 thing, its another huh!...I dont know if I can call them cramps or aches..I feel like I got minor shooting ache pain like in the back..So I think nothing of it or my mind will go insane...Already ahead of the game, determined 1 more IUI than Im dune til I win the lottery or 2 years worth of saving for IVF...I also want to complain to my DH union on such ****ty coverage we have...He dont want me to, cus he doesnt want to go be4 the board and complain...I WILL!!! Hi Gals, I will be taking a urine test on Monday morning before I go in for the beta. Last time I had the beta they told me I had to be there before 10:00am to get same day results and I didnt get a call til 4:00pm. That was a long painful wait and then to hear it was negative made me rather upset. I figured they call all the positives first. I have a feeling I will be doing another IUI since I really dont feel any different. But its not over til its over, I guess.

Good morning, girls. Marie, keep your head up! We are thinking of you - tomorrow is the big day, huh? You mentioned you don't feel different... do you feel any AF symptoms coming on? Mare, I am feeling a little better, tahnk you for asking. I woke up with cramps again. AF cramps, that is. I am trying so hard to ignore them, but can't stop thinking about it. Is it possible to have AF symptoms and then they go away to find out you may be pregnant? Just wondering. I also heard that if you are taking prog. and you do get your period it is very heavy..... I am very negative today. I can't stop thinking about having to do this again. Plus, I may have to go back on the Pill because of all of these cysts. Anyway, Mare, how are you feeling, besides the infection? Oh, you asked me about the endo biop and I cancelled it because I was in alot of pain. I am doing the Clomid (100mg)IUI thingie. I am on "round 2 "(sounds like I am in a boxing match)..haha. My DH has low/normal sperm ct. Not enough washed numbers last month I guess..I will sit here patiently and wait to see if the old eggs "hatch"...I am CD 11 currently. Yes, we can't lose our HUMOR! I kept busy last night making a kiwi fruit tart (with grapes,raspberries and blueberries). Chicken waiting to hatch? In our office, there are 2 of us who've been through all the infertility "process." As a gag gift last Christmas, one of the other gals bought us a ceramic hen laying eggs! Mare! Thank you for asking about me! I am sorry I have not responded in these past few days... I am feeling better and I am back at work. I have major AF symptoms :-( I am so frustrated and bummed out. I could not stand it and tested yesterday, (5 days early) and it was negative. Do you think there is still chance for a pos? Also, do some women experience cramping like their period and then wind up pregnant? Enough about me - how are YOU? How is that infection? How is your body feeling post IUI, and when are you planning on testing? Keep me posted on everything and Thank you for asking about me - you made my day! Marie, I am so very sorry to hear your news. Sure its AF you feel?...All this bloatness, belly and boops, I dont know if I ache or its AF..so dam pufffy, cant tell difference anymore..Feels like im being pinched and held onto!! Aches still here, high on my back like my hip bones, I starting to think my ovarys are moving or swollen..Guess Ill find out Mondayish..I some how figured you may have tested for the frig of it..Im going to wait til friday and do a pee 1 and probably end the misery for couple days to start all ove again!...Ok, hey Im down to 2 creamers left!!! Morning Girls! Well got woken up by shooting pain on my left side...HAVE NO CLUE! If its cramps, I have never be4 had them like this! Hi gals, Well AF started today here with a vengence. Talked in depth with my dr yesterday and have bad news. He said my only option would be IVF with donor eggs because my egg quality isnt good. Using my own eggs, I would only have a 5-10% chance of pregnancy. ***Sigh*** This is just never-ending. If its not one thing, its another!

Hiya Marie and Jenn!...Sorry to hear AF showed..Mines on the way...Marie? How do they know how your egg quality is?..You have only done IUI? How many times? What other drugs if any were you on? what were you diagnosed with when 1st started fertility treatments..Is it that your FSH that is high meaning reserve like? I hope you understand what I mean?..Mare
