Anybody have experience with Vagifem? I am hesitant to start using any products yet...I am 32 but treatment for leukemia sent me into earluy menopause. I have only begun this journey, and I guess technically since it has not been one year since my last period I am not sure what state I am at. My ovaries are not functional and have not been for about 4 months. Oh my, so I haven't started the vagifem because I want to know what people think about it.
Thanks,

I've been on Vagifem, for 4 years, because I went into menopause in my late 30s and was having painful vaginal dryness. It is very good at helping keep the area moist, otherwise, you can start having chronic dryness. If your vaginal area is dry, then, I'd try it. I've had no side effects and I like the Vagifem pill inserts better than a cream. The estrogen cream was irritating. Also, I wear a low dose HRT patch, which I change weekly.

Thanks for your input! I feel better starting something with a good reputation. If you stop using it will the vaginal dryness be worse, kind of like when you wear glasses and your eyes get lazy so they work less hard as a norm.

I've been using Vagifem for 6 months. It has helped tremendously with dryness and has absolutely no side effects for me, at all. Since it delivers a very small dose of estrogen in that area only, I would think that if you stop using it, your body will slowly revert back to the way it was, before you started using it. Lack of estrogen due to menopause can cause severe, chonic dryness and vaginal atrophy. I am planning to stay on Vagifem as long as my Dr. recommends.
