I have gential HSV1, which means the guy who gave it to me had a cold sore on his lip and passed on to me threw oral sex. If you have a cold sore and peform oral sex you can give them gential HSV1. If they have a cold sore and perform oral sex on you, they can give you gential HSV1. If they have a cold sore and you guys kiss theirs a chance you can get it and vice versa. All HSV1 is, is a cold sore, but it can be passed on orally and gentially. YOU CAN NOT GET IT FROM SHARING TOWELS AND DISHES. YOU HAVE TO COME IN DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE SORE.
