Hello, I am 22 years old and although I do not have a big acne problem, I have extremely oily skin. I constantly need to wash it and apply all sorts of otc products in order to make sure I don't break out (mostly whiteheads.) I feel gross all the time because of this oily skin. I'll shower and not even 8 hours later I can tell my scalp feels greasy, my back, my face within even 30 minutes..
I don't know what to do. It's not just restricted to my face area, but the upper half of my body, upper arms, back, chest, neck. I am looking for something that would help me with this problem. I do not think I need a cream because it's not just my face, and this is coming from within my body. I heard there's a medication, I forget what it is called, but it's prescribed off label for acne problems, i think it's a diuretic.
Does anyone have this problem and what did you do for it? I wake up in the morning and it's like I slept in a bucket of olive oil. And if I don't constantly blot and wash my face, I break out in whiteheads due to this oil production.

Oily skin is caused by genes and hormones. You can't do anything about your genetics but you can get some blood tests to see if there is any hormonal imbalance including thyroid levels. I know my already oily skin went crazy as I was becoming hypothyroid.
I like Purpose soap by Johnson & Johnson. It's very drying.
I think the medication you're thinking of is Aldactone (Spironolactone). It has too may scary side effects for me. Tazorac cream or gel, a retin-A derivative, usually used for psoriasis and acne can also be used off label for severe oily skin.
