I'm a bit close to the edge today - had a lot of stress lately and my sister left her abusive husband and moved in and he's been ringing all the time - have to leave my answerphone on and screen calls - realised that I don't have anything left inside to give her - because I'm not the same person I used to be before PTSD - it made me very sad - I had self destructive thoughts but got through them - havnt had them for a while - thought I was past that - sometimes it just seems like you are going backwards - I know this will pass - just had to vent :(

I know exactlly how you felt. It is funny Nobody ever knows what to say to you do they? First u r ashamed to say that you are close to the edge. They when u finally say it, there seems to be no help. But u r right this will pass, just give it time. Since this was a year ago since u made this posting then I gianna asume u made it past this low time in your life. Congrats!

Hi Sinamin,

Thanks for the reply, it was the end of last month that I posted my message and yes sometimes it does feel like you're a little out on a limb, but that's how it goes sometimes - don't know if anyone has said this to you yet - but welcome to the boards, - I am still pretty wired - can feel depression looming on the horizon but am managing to keep it away at present - I guess I am grieving a bit - the thing that upset me the most lately is that I am not the person I used to be - she was much nicer and more connected to the world - I am not - I am disconnected - it's safer for me that way and when I can't reach out and help someone as well as I used to it hurts - I used to be able to support lots of people now I have enough trouble supporting myself - anyway enough of this whinging - take care

I hope all is well with you
