My father developed psoriasis in his 20's (may have been early 30's.) My 18 year old sister has recently been complaining that her legs itch all over at night and keep her awake. My mother and I are concerned because my dad's psoriasis itches at night.
But, my sister is being treated with antiobiotics for a mild staff infection in a couple scratches on her legs. We are just going to keep assuming that its the antibiotics making her itch like that.
Any input? I don't know much as far as the genetics of psoriasis. What are the odds of my sister or myself inheriting it?

They know Psoriasis is a genetic disease but Docs are puzzled because the inheritance of it can seem random. It probably involves multiple genes or combinations of many genes.
They do know if one parent has psoriasis, a child has a 10 percent chance of developing psoriasis. If both parents have psoriasis, it's almost a 50 percent chance.
