I'm still on BCP's but I'v recieved my plan and an trying to psych myself out about the shots! I'v read most of ya'll only take one shot of Gonal-F a day. In my plan, I am having to take (along with the Lupron)2 shots of the Gonal-F, one in the A.M and one in the P.M. Is anyone else having to do this, or am I just lucky? LOL

Hmmm. Everything I've read on Gonal F says one shot. Did he say why you were doing two?

The nurse called today and I asked her why I was taking 2 shots. The most dreaded words came out of her mouth "YOUR AGE" LOL! I am 37. I guess they just want to make sure. I already feel like a voo-doo doll and I haven't even started the shots!

I recently referred a co-worker of mine to Dr Silverberg, and his advice to her is so much different than his advice to me- I'm assuming because of the age difference.

I'm going to the IVF office on Wednesday for them to go over my plan with me. I have a copy in front of me now. It says I'm supposed to take 3 amps (225 #IUs)in the A.M. and it repeats the same dosage for the P.M.
Can you overdose on infertility drugs???!!!

Don't worry about overdosing on meds, I just finished a cycle of Gonal-F/IUI and am currently in the 2ww. However, due to the presence of lots of tiny "bad quality" follicles I was put on 8amps of Gonal-F per day for 3 days and then went down to 4amps daily and I am only 24. It may seem like a lot but my RE used this to "starve" the small follies and "feed" the healthier ones, it that makes any sense. So, I'm still alive and kicking and I haven't grown a third arm or anything since taking all of those meds so I think you'll be just fine. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/round.gif

My RE gave me 2 amps of Follistim once a day, then upped it to 3 and then 4. If I didn't get pregnant she said that the following month I would need to do 2 amps twice a day for a better and quicker response. Thank God I got pregnant, those Follistim shots burn like heck.
