Hi all,
I know most of you are in the same boat as me, so I'm hoping you can give me some advice and encouragement....?
I'm 28 years old and I've been TTC #2 for 9 months. My son is now 25 months and my desire for another baby is taking control of me. I bought the book Taking Charge of your Fertility (is a very good book and I recommend it for anyone trying and having trouble) and I think I am doing everything right.... We've been having sex at least every other day (every day if I have a lot of cervical mucus) for the entire time. I think our odds of concieving would be pregnant by now!! I have my periods on the same day every month (give or take only a day or maybe two), and I concieved after only one month of trying with my son. Keeping track of my cervical mucus is kind of confusing to me, it doesn't seem to follow any particular pattern, but having sex every otherday you'd think we'd get there by now...
Everyone around me is getting pregnant and I'm sooo sad. I want my son to have a sibling, and I want another baby so bad-I know you can understand. Every time I see a young baby or pregnant woman my heart breaks. I'm also very worried about all those tests and fertility treatments, I am being consumed by this and getting so sad I cry because my period just keeps coming and I can't figure out why. I'm so worried that I'll never have another baby. I know I'm stressed about this but up to a couple months ago I had things more in perspective and was more positive so please don't only blame stress...
Oh, my OBGYN says she doesn't want to see me til I've been trying for a year. (she told me this when I had my pap in March)
Can anyone shed any insite or have good stories to share for encouragement?
Thank you so much for being there.......

That stinks that your doc wont see you until you have been trying for a year. It is possible to get another doctor to check you?

Ok have you started the BBT charting the book suggests? The reason I ask is it will help since you are having problems with the CM.
Also if you do it now you will have three charts to show your Dr so she can see what your cycles look like. This will be a HUGE step in the right direction if it comes to infertility testing. It will give your dr a better idea of when to do the proper tests for you.
Make sure your dh is doing his part as well. Such as eating right, get rid of the tight pants and underwear, if he smokes quitting is a good thing.
As for a reason they are numerous from you stressing too much over ttc, bad eggs, bad sperm, and the list can go on.

I'm in a similar situation. My DD is 22 months and we've been trying 5 months for #2. With her it worked on the second try.
The Dr's say since you've conceived successfully you should be able to do it again, so I would assume that would be the case for you as long as nothing has dramatically changed in anyone's fitness or hormone levels.
I've been charting for three months and did a OPK twice, so it looks like I was predicting my ovulation too early. It might not hurt to try an OPK.
DH just got his sperm checked and the results seem like everything is in the normal to low normal area, so we are very hopefull. (He's been on Testosterone Replacement Treatment for a year, which can lower your sperm count.) But we still need to talk to the Dr for the full explanaition and see if he needs to alter his TRT.
I would suggest to just stick with it, and hopefully everything will come together. Although, since you are getting anxious (as I'm sure most all of us here are!) you could try the OPK, BBT charting, or even try the at home fertillity kits. I've seen ones for women and men. They're proably not as accurate as going to the Dr, but could be an option.
Best of luck and keep positive! :)

Thank you so much guys!!!! I just bought a basal body thermometer and will start tomorrow morning! I'm not sure why I waited so long.... I also got some opk and will start trying those next month. Ok, so I'm being a little more positive right now (just wait if my period comes though). YOU GUYS ARE HELPING SO MUCH! Good luck to all......

I am using Clearblue easy fertility monitor, it is a little pricey but it takes A LOT of guess work out of things. This is my first cycle using it, but if you go online and read the testimonials its really encouraging!
