Hi Lisa!
I dont go in until this Fri. 4/11. I did go in for pre-op today..Saw the nurses and anesthesiologist! I have to go under general anesthesia..and go to recovery room afterwards..Its considered day surgery. Theysaid it should take about 4 hrs total!!
The nurse was nice..She said her daughter was trying to conceive too. Shes 43! She told me well u have alot of time left..and i said thank u! then she said ohhhh your 38>>( guess I look a little younger than she thought i was).lol...then she said well...you still have time!! Im like yea dig yourself out of that one!! hahaha.. I laughed.. The nurses and crew were extemely nice there though! I know I am in good hands at least! Im just NERVOUS!! never been under with general anesthesia!!!!!!!!ive heard stories about being nauseous afterwards!! At least Ill have my hubby with me..(they said you need a "recovery buddy" to be with u for 24 hrs.. I said my husband will of course be there!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so jittery about it all! they are doing a hysteroscopy too(checking uterus)..I said do it all at once!!!! get it all over with!! hahaha....anyway.sorry to ramble...but thanks for thinking about me!! Adding my good luck wishes for this Friday-

I didn't have any nausea from the anesthesia, but you can ask your dr to give you a rx for Phenergan just in case. I used it to help with the nausea I got from the strong antibiotics.

The one thing I do remember is that when I woke up I was FREEZING! They had about 5 blankets on top of me and then they brought several more. Also, I had a burning like I had to pee. The nurse said "We just removed your catheter. Trust me- you don't have to pee." I hollered that I most certainly DID have to pee, so she brought me a bedpan. Not one little drop, LOL.
Good luck- I hope it's as uneventful as possible, and wish you a quick recovery.

ams......don't feel anxious about a your lap. You will be under anesthesia so u won't feel anything. When u wake up u will be in the recovery room.I did not even feel nauseous afterwards. After your lap for next 2 days you will feel a bit weak and i preffered to sleep the whole day.So it is better if there is someone around to take care.Don't worry ....it won't hurt at all.

ams,

You close your eyes and the next thing you know you are in recovery. I also had no nausea but was cold. I actually felt so good that they released me within an hour of waking up. You are still a little groggy so you will most likely sleep most of the afternoon. You will be a little tender for 2-3 days and your stomach is bloated from the gas they inject. You will do fine. Make sure you tell your DH to listen to what the dr. tells him about the surgery because you won't remember if the Dr. tells you. It will be a relief to get it over with and see what they find! Good luck.

Yep, I agree with Tmer - you don't even know whats going on - I had mine about a year ago. Not bad at all. I wish you LUCK, Anne!
