A very dear friend has Hep C....He is in stage 3 and doctor said there is really nothing more they can do for him...Is there ANY NATURAL rememdies he might be able to take to slow down the progress of the Hep C viral deterioation of his Liver? The newest development is a high ammonia level. He is not nor ever has been an alcoholic or huge drinker...only an occassional social drinker before he found out he had Hep C...He is 56...How long is a person in stage 4 before immenent death?

I have provided the following websites: One is for Dr. Sandra Cabot, specialized in hepatitisC/liver. The other is on Magalie Hall, nutritionist/lifestyle coach, who lives in Texas.

Dr. Sandra Cabot: www.liverdoctor.com You can also email doctor questions.

Magalie Hall (Ft.worth,Texas) - She was diagnosed with severe-liver cancer, she was not a candidate for chemo therapy. She was sent home to die. That was aprox 12 years ago, she is alive and well and cancer-free. Read her story, she has a book, My Victory over Cancer. I provided websites on Magalie Hall below:

P.S. I hope all this helps. No one responded to the question I posted so I had to be my own advocate to seek answers to my own question-- I will keep yall posted on my matter.

I recently went to a GI/liver seminar for work. The speaker stated the herb "milk thistle" supports liver function, however not sure if it would help for stage 3. Interferon has been used for several yrs for Hep C, although again, unsure regarding stage 3.

Can he get a 2nd opinion?
