Hello,
I'm new and looking for help with my father's recent diagnosis. In May of this year my Dad had a biopsy done (right lung). It showed Non small cell cancer. No other areas showed up on the PET scans (2 were done) prior to radiation treatment for the lung cancer in June. A couple of weeks ago, my Dad had a follow up PET scan and it showed a tumor on his left Adrenal gland. A biopsy was done, and it showed SMALL cell lung cancer. The doctor said, it is obiviously a different "entity" from the first tumor that was radiated, because that tumor was Non Small cell. Has this happened to anyone else? The tumor on the left lung was/is approx 1/2 in. and the tumor on the adrenal gland is approx. 2/3 inch. My dad will begin chemo next week. He is 70 yrs old. Good health, except for some shortness of breath issues that have begun this year (which were attributed to pulmonary fibrosis.) Anyway, if anyone has any ideas about his having both Non Small and Small cell, please let me know. Any advice at all is greatly appreciated. We are so worried. Thank you.
Kathy
