I spoke with my Doc today after AF came for a visit. She said that my progesterone test came in low. She suggested either progesterone gel or clomid.
I would appreciate any suggestions from you. I am new with all of this and have no idea what to do. My FSH was high and she wants me to retest this Saturday but doesn't want to loose this cycle. She said that if my FSH comes back high again I will have to see a specialist and they will probably put me on perganol.
Any experience with those? Please help.

Ivona,

Clomid is a fertility drug that helps women to ovulate. I found these two sites that can give you more info about it. http://www.inciid.org/clomidberger.html http://www.tryingtoconceive.com/clomid.htm

"Progesterone is an important hormone in preventing miscarriage. Without adequate progesterone, the uterine lining will remain rigid, thereby, making pregnancy difficult to achieve." More info at: http://infertility.miningco.com/library/weekly/aa112898.htm

I took 7 rounds of clomid 1 1/2 year ago (before taking glucophage xr), and it didn't work for me. I ovulated only once. Now, I am on Glucophage XR 2000mg daily, and I've been ovulating on my own for almost a year. I've two miscarriage and my RE put me on progesterone suppositories (starting 2DPO) since Feb/03.

I hope this helps! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

My doctor could tell from my progesterone test (on 22nd CD) that I ovulated. I wonder then why would she suggest clomid. She mentioned hyperstimulating my eggs. Does clomid do that also?
Have you heard anything about preganol?

Clomid will stimulate your ovaries. If you ovulate, then your progesterone level will usually be fine. If you don't ovulate, then you will have low progesterone.

I'm not sure how your FSH level affects this. I have PCOS, and low progersterone to me means that I didn't ovulate. Unlike the last poster, I have always ovulated on clomid. However, glucophage doesnn't help me.

That's what I don't understand. My doctor told me that from the progesterone test (22cd) she could tell that I ovulated, but then she said that my progesterone is low...
