Sorry ladies, just one more question. For the progesterone shot- what hurts more, the actual needle going in, the medicine going in or the muscle the day after?? Trying to psyche myself up for the upcoming injections.

Thanks,
The big baby from NJ

Hi tmerone,
I would have to say the needle going in hurts the most. I myself prefer to lay down on my stomach and have dh give it to me. There is one piece of advice I can give you. Make sure you warm up the syringe in your hand or under your arm for a few minutes to make sure the oil is easier to dispense from the needle. And as hard as it is keep your muscle relaxed while you are getting the shot. If you tense up it will bother you more. Here is another thing I do to relax. Put the TV on and watch something so you are not bracing yourself for the shot. These things have made the progesterone shots bearable for me. Good luck! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

To me, the medicine going in was the worst. Once the needle penetrates the skin, it kind of goes in like butter. I was pretty sore after too.

Have you tried to talk the RE out of it yet?
