Kel1970 04-09-2003, 08:23 AM My two week wait will be over Friday when I go in for my blood test. Can anyone tell me if they have gone this long without any spotting or AF and still got a bad ending? I have had some mild cramping off and on for the whole 2ww but nothing else. There have been some other things like nausea and tender bb.
Now here is the kicker, I spoke with my nurse and she advised me not to take a home pregnancy test. The anxiety has been killing me so I did one this morning. It came back I think positive but I am not sure. The line was so faint it could just be my wishful thinking. Why do they tell you not to do the home pregnancy test?? Is it still too early to show up on them?? Any help would be great. Thanks!
RattyG 04-09-2003, 10:11 AM If you had an hCG shot to induce ovulation, the shot could cause a false positive for about 10 days or so post IUI. That's one reason they suggest waiting.
Kel1970 04-09-2003, 10:25 AM Thanks RattyG. I had an IVF retrieval on March 24th. So my hcg shot was on March 22nd. I would think that would be out of my system by now wouldn't it?? http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif
RattyG 04-09-2003, 10:54 AM Well, the other thing to keep in mind is the idea that any positive is a positive--even a faint one. When I tested my first test looked like a negative to me, and then as I stood over it contemplating the next round of injections, it just turned into a faint positive. Sure enough--the next day--a big old positive.
Are you on progesterone to promote implantation? That can delay your period as well.
It is so hard to wait!!! Good luck and I hope you have a positive in your near future!!!!
Kel1970 04-09-2003, 11:13 AM Thanks for your input. Sometimes I doubt myself because I just want it to be a positive so badly. LOL! Yes, I am still on those awful IM progesterone shots. Any idea on how long they could delay your period?? I was due last Saturday. Is that normal?
mommawannabee 04-09-2003, 11:34 AM Good Luck Kelly!!! I'm hoping for a true BFN for YOU!! YAY! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/dance.gif http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/bouncing.gif

Kel1970 04-09-2003, 04:59 PM Thanks for all the positive thoughts guys. Since this morning the cramping has increased though. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif I really fear that AF will start tonight or tomorrow. This is such an emotional time, I feel so sad right now.
Good luck to the rest of you. I hope you all get positive results. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

gsjjs1 04-10-2003, 09:50 PM I think you are preggers!!! I started testing 9 days after my HCG shot and it was negative. It turned positive (faintly) 11 days post HCG and very positive 12 days post HCG. This was still 2 days before my period was due.

Kel1970 04-11-2003, 05:01 PM Hi guys, well it has been a rough day for me. I totally didn't expect the call I got. My beta game back negative. I honestly think it wouldn't have surprised me so much if AF had shown up before today. So as of tonight I stop my progesterone shots. I have an appointment the first week of May with my Dr to go over the groups findings and reccomendations.
Thanks to all of you for keeping my spirits up during this torturous 2ww. I will definitely be sticking around. Looks like I am just going to have to gear up for IVF #3. Third time is a charm right???
sunnytxgal 04-11-2003, 05:21 PM I am so sorry****I know you're really down right now**but I really appreciate you responding. Keep your chin up gal**We are all here for you.

Kel1970 04-12-2003, 05:06 PM Thank you for the support old flo1. I think having taken a break after my first failed IVF has really helped me put things into perspective. I am not going to give up. I am a very stubborn person and I am determined to keep at this.
Good luck to you in whatever stage you are in right now too. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
