I have been trying to concieve #2 for over 1 1/2 years. I became pregnant with my first child rather quickly. I had problems with my periods being abnormally heavy after I had my daughter, so my OB put me on continuous BC pills. Basically this caused me to not have a period for over a year. After I stopped taking the BC and wanted to become PG, I did not get a period. THe doctor gave me meds to bring it on, however I have not been regular nor am I ovulating.

She has now put me on a regime of meds. First clomid, then estrogen and last prochieve.. Has anyone tried this? I am starting to get worried that I may not be able to become PG again. My insurance does not cover fertility and the costs are getting out of hand. The prochieve alone was 180.00. I was just wondering if anyone had success with this?

I don't know anything about prochieve, I've never used it or known anyone who has, is it supposed to help you ovulate? I have experienced amenorrhea though, for the past 10 months after stopping the pill. I did get pregnant the one month I ovulated, then miscarried, and was diagnosed with PCOS a few weeks later. Do you have any other symptoms of PCOS like weight gain, acne, or facial hair? Women with PCOS usually ovulate only once or twice a year if at all, if you think it might describe you. Otherwise I wish you luck, I hope you find the right medication and can have a second baby http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hi Joanster,
My dr. started me on clomid 100 mg and estradiol, and prochieve 8% in the beginning of my March cycle. I am now 5 wks. pg. ( finally after 1 1/2 years). I'm not sure if you are on procheive 4% or 8%. Because I know the 8% is just a prog. med. to line the coating of your uterus to help keep a pregnancy. So its probably 4% your own but if not write back and I'll tell you anything you want to know about the 8%.
