Hi ladies,
I went to the doctor monday and he said it's time -- I was only on CD 9 -- he said that i was starting to ovulate on my own. He gave me the HCG shot and I went back tuesday for my IUI. What do u think about this -- my LH level was 11 ---- my progestrone level was about 113 and my estrogen level was about 414. My donor sperm count was 52 million with 40% motility.
I've been reading a book called Conquering Infertility and it said that sperm can stay alive for 5 day as long as their is cervical fluid. It says that cervical fluid is present during ovulation --- well I have notice any CF - matter of fact I've been pretty dry. I don't know what to think --- I hope those little ones are still alive during their stuff.... !!

Well I take my test April 22 ---- Can't wait !! I'll just have to think positive. I asked my doctor about if he thought this cycle was good because he did the IUI sooner this time (CD 10)--- he said sooner is better !!! We'll see --- keep your fingers cross for me !!! baby dust to everyone !!!

hey --- do you really think everything looks ok !??
What about me not having any cervical fluid ? do you think the sperm is still alive --- they say that sperm dies after 2 hours if there is no cervical fluid. I was starting to ovualate on my own before the hcg shot -- shouldn't I of had cervical fluid.

How are you feeling --- what was you LH level and what was you linning thickness ??? keep in touch !!!!!

Hey girlie! this is fun talking, huh?!! I cannot remember what my lining was -but they were all excited about it! I don't even know about my levels - I'll find out more on Wed of next week what my progesterone is.

Skyams- Cervical fluid doesn't matter when you do IUI. You are by passing the cervix all together and the sperm is in your uterus. They try to time IUI so close to ovulation because sperm will only survive for less than 24 hours with IUI because they are not in cervical fluid. They use IUI when people have cervical fluid issues because you get around it.
Good luck with your IUI. I go for my second IUI in about two weeks.

so with the hcg shot -- I know that I ovulated and the sperm stays alive longer then 24 hours when you are ovulating. My doctor said about 3 days..... where are you at with your cycle ?? what med r u on ??? thanks !

skysam, I am not familiar with the HCg shot. But your cervical mucus is on your cervix and if you do IUI they put the cathater(sp?) into your uterus which bypasses your cervix and therefore the sperm is not in the cervical fluid. I think your doctor is talking about when you bd it can last up to 3 days. With IUI it only lasts about 24 hours. I on my second IUI with clomid. No fancy drugs for me yet.
