Does anyone know if high blood pressure could be causing headaches. I've been on birth control pills for a year and the doctor told me yesterday that it is causing me high blood pressure. I've noticed that I've been getting a lot more headaches recently and I was wondering if this could all be linked. Thank you for your help.

I think high blood pressure *can* cause headaches, but I would guess it's probably the birth control hormones that are causing your headaches.

Thanks - I thought it was probably a combo of the two.

there is a possibility, but i think that more than likely it is the birth control pills causing the headaches. maybe you can try a different pill.

Thanks all. I think I'm going to have to try a diff one - my dr. thinks the estrogen is causing the high bp.
