i have been getting vertigo off and on for years,I have had several MRI's and other tests for years but they have found nothing. during these attacks they last for several days, i can't hardly move my head off the bed my blood presure drops down extremely low and I don't feel right for months.Right before it happens I can almost feel a bang after or sound like thing ,hit the back of my head and then I can't fuction right. Then i don't feel right for months afterwards. The episodes are spread apart by years. It had been four years since my last one then this past year i had one and I was out of commision for six months.this time a new simptom was added it was followed by extreme panic and all the doctors could tell me was I don't know.I am not sure if the panic was cause i was so scared about having the episode or what.there is other simptoms that come with it extreme fatigue afterwards shaking and i can't think right. They did give me anxiety medicine to calm me down it took months for the stuff to work or maybe the panic part started to subside I am not sure .does anyone know possiably any answers?

braunchick - That your problems happen after a virus suggests that the virus could be causing some damage to your autonomic nervous system - result is heart rate and blood pressure problems, either high or low. You can also end up with GI issues with it. Once your nervous system heals, if it does, you recover.
Note - I said suggests, you need to make sure there's nothing else happening either.

napier44- The feeling you get in the back of your head has me at a bit of a loss to explain. Have you looked in the brain and nervous system section threads about chiari (and researched elsewhere)?
