Hi ladies. Hope you are all having a nice weekend. DH and I had quite a scare last night. We were out playing darts with some friends, and I went to the bathroom, and I passed two olive size clots and started just gushing red blood. I ran out of the bathroom crying, and told DH he had to rush me to the emergency room. I was shaking the whole way, I think I was going into shock. And, my DH thought he was in the Indy 500 - driving through red lights with his horn going! Anyway, we checked in, and my nurse is 38 weeks pregnant! Can you believe it? So, the took me back to do an u/s after taking three tubes of blood from my hand (nurse couldn't get another vein), and wouldn't let DH go in there with me. They said they were just going to do the u/s, take pictures, send them to the radiologist to read, and then the doctor would read them to me after (now 1:30 a.m.). So, after about 1 minute of the u/s, the technician says, "so do you want to see?", and she turned it to me, and there was that precious heartbeat. Go figure? DH was so happy, he had me in the wheelchair doing wheelies through the hospital (I thought we were going to get kicked out). Anyway, I talked to my RE this morning, and he has me on total bedrest ("not to ambulate") until I see my OB on Tuesday, and expects they will do another u/s. He said that the technician thought she saw bleeding, but it could also have been a vein. Now, it is just dried brown blood again. So, I will be on the boards more often then not checking on you ladies since it looks like I will be off work for awhile. Wondering if I should do an amnio when the time is right after all these complications (?). Anyway, I just wanted to keep everyone informed. I am not really that worried, just trying to follow dr. orders, which is sooooooo boring. Plus, the house totally needs to be dusted, and I have laundry, etc. I am sending DH to the store for milk here in an hour or so. Everybody have a nice weekend, and I will fill you in probably daily.
As always, I am saying my prayers every night, and a special one to Amy tonight for a BFP next time http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Jody,
I started crying when I read about the fresh blood, I could feel your fear right through your email. Even Fina my dog started getting upset for you , well, at me crying for you. My eyes are still leaking a bit. I'm so relieved for you.
Praise the Lord for that precious heartbeat.
You certainly have angels on your shoulder. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/angel.gif
I'll pray your bedrest keeps things in order and we'll be here when you're bored. What is your job?
How on bedrest are you? Are you laying down like 20 hours a day, or are you just not allowed to leave the house, or do any work? Do you check the computer laying down or sitting up? Sorry about the silly questions, but I don't know what I'd do "on bedrest", without access to my computer for a week I've had a couple days of the computer fritzing out lately, but not consecutively. This website and my email keeps me sane! Do you sew? I also crochet, I figure that would keep you busy, though my girlfriend also did puzzles, a lot of puzzles when she was on bedrest.
I'll keep praying for you and your little bairn.
Talk to you soon!

You are so sweet, Jody - to wish others so well before sharing your scare. I would have freaked! I'm so glad that everything is okay - and as boring as it gets, YOU BETTER LISTEN to your drs orders!
Get lots of rest! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/heart.gif

Cathy / Momma, thanks for your responses. Cathy, what is nuzzles? I don't sew, so I am going to read books. At the hospital last night they told me to get up to go to the bathroom and that was it. Right now, I am in the office of my home with my feet up and the keyboard on my lap. I wish I had a laptop right now! I work for a major automaker here in the Detroit area (hard to guess - one of three!) as a financial analyst. My work is not going to be happy, I'm sure, but I get 22 months of continuous disability with 100% pay, so at least I don't have to worry about that. I am actually really bummed b/c I have been working on a few hot assignments, and now my boss will probably take the credit for them. Oh well. I am going back to my couch, I will check in with everybody later http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Jody, you two are in my thoughts and prayers. You're doing what's best for the both of you. Hang in there!
Eat something good and watch some trash t.v. That always makes me feel better, or at least makes me laugh!

Jody,
Not nuzzles, Puzzles. Ha Ha Nuzzles is what we do with our pets. Ha Ha
Hope you take it easy. Bummer about your boss taking your cake, but at least the fact that you have that sick time available is a load off your mind, and you can focus on more festive things, like what color will you make DH paint the nursery?!
I'm sorry if you get bored, but reading and stuff, I liked someone's suggestion of trash tv, I always get sucked into Lifetime (or WE) movies when I'm home sick, that will keep you busy, but also be sure to get plenty of rest.
Take it easy!
We're here if you're bored.
TTFN,
Ta Ta For Now,
Cathy

Jody, I think my heart sank into my stomach when I read the first few sentences of you post....I know how scared you were (I have had 2 miscarriages and bleed with my daughter and had a successful pg but was scared to death the day I went to the bathroom and there was bright red blood).
Isn't that little heart beat the most precious thing on earth! I am so happy that everything is o.k. I will keep you & you little one in my prayers and you are such a sweetie to be thinking of me at a time like this http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
Keep us posted on how the next couple of days go! Don't worry about dusting or the laundry....the great thing about housework is it patiently waits until you get better....IT WILL STILL BE THERE http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

If the doctor says no walking, that's exactly what he means. Take it easy and enjoy lazing around for a few days. Is there anything you've been meaning to do round the house, but never had time, like putting photos into photo albums, collecting all your favourite recipes etc? You could always start a diary, with all your thoughts & feelings leading up to pregnancy? Now is a good time to phone those long-lost friends & family!
Try to get a routine into your day, which will stop you feeling as though you're wasting time.
Take it easy. We're all thinking of you!
