My dad takes BP medicine to control his blood pressure. The meds keep pressure in normal range. My dad is 70 years old and stays very active. About once or twice a month when he is checking his BP his pulse rate will be well over 100. His BP will be normal. He has 2 machines and pulse checks high with both. Usually next day pulse rate will be back to 75-85. I was just wondering if anybody else ever experienced this and should we be concerned?

Hello,

I have been on a ride with malignant hypertension, and have been treated with a combination of BP meds over the years. Which medications does he use?

My pulse rates run high too, and my doctor tells me that keeping the blood pressure down is our first priority, but I do note it during my daily bp monitoring. Mine seems to have a range of about 20 points, depending what time of day, and whats going on. Sometimes it goes over 100. That is just my little 2 cents...Hope it helps a little!

My dad takes Benicar HCT 20/12.5 MG. He is a little over weight but walks to maintain his weight. BP avg. last 5 days checking it 2 different times 117-120 over 77-80 with pulse rate of 82. One day his pulse rate was 100 and then later 102.
