In my opinion, it's difficult to talk about this without some specifics. A little on the low side can be good and might indicate good health. Whereas extremely low can be dangerous. If it's somewhere in between then it would help to know what the adverse symptoms are, if any. Some doctors believe that there's no such thing as too low as long as there are no adverse symptoms such as dizzyness etc...

Many things cause it and have it as part of the disease. You can simply have low blood pressure from low blood volume - which is the easiest to correct if your kidneys respond normally. That can be fixed with increased fluids and salt.

Then there's the type that comes along with deficiencies, blood sugar problems, hormone problems (thyroid, adrenal fatigue/addison's, norepinephrine), autonomic nervous system issues, neuropathy keeping some blood vessels from constricting, anemia - to list a few.

Symptoms, health, and what you've had your doctor do already would be important information before guessing what your low BP could be caused from.
