I have a few questions here. I went to my dr. with hand pain and numbness a few weeks ago. She said she was sure it was carpal tunnel and sent me to a neurologist for a nevver conductin study. The test was not real postive for cts. but my gp said the nuero recommended a hand surgoen. Does this mean that they think it is carpal tunnel and is surgery a possiblity for the future? I know that I am tired of the pain and numbness>

It certainly sounds like they want you to have the surgery. Let me ask you some questions. Do you drop something once a day without trying? Does it hurt to open bottles and put on jewelry? Do items that you used to carry now feel heavy (like a vacuum cleaner)? These are some of the things that I had and I knew I had cts. Driving a car was and still is a challenge for me. The worse my cts got, the more I held onto the steering wheel. I had surgery in 2005 and then cts came back because I didn't change my lifestyle. I still sewed a whole lot, was online too much, etc. And now I'm reading up on posture and cts. I'm trying to sit up straighter, walk more upright. I need to lose weight too.
