I had a stroke Jan.9,2008. First was uncontrollable crying now laughing at wrong times. I can't control the laughing. How do I control this?
I attended my granddaughters grade 8 graduation which was in a church and I laughed uncontrollably for 1 hour. People were getting angry at me which made me laugh more.

I dont know if you are around anymore but I was looking through old pages and my emotional experience was the same as your. I had a stroke nearly 2yrs ago and couldn't stop crying. It wasn't self pity oranything. Im 66 and accept things that happen in life. I would not see anyone other than my wife for the first 3 or 4 weeks. Then like you my sense of humour went out of the window. I would laugh at anything. Its improved a bit now though.

Hello,

I survived 4 simultaneous strokes 5 years ago, and I still experience episodes of uncontrollable crying and laughing, often at the same time. I also have found that I cannot filter my thoughts, so I sometimes blurt out things before I think about them. Thank goodness my family and friends understand, so I don't worry about it.

When I am carefully choosing my words, I make the most mistakes. My mind switches the first letters of words, making some pretty funny words. I am just happy to be alive, and these are the least of my worries. :jester:
