Hi I have a 16 cm hemagioma on my liver that is going to be removed nov 5. It was discover by ultrasound after i had a gallbladder issue while I was pregnant. I just had my baby 6 weeks ago so now we are moving forwards with the surgery. I am breast feeding and was planning to pump and dump until it is safe for me to breast feed again. is it duable or a my crazy to still want to breast feed after surgery? need advice please. thanks:confused:

You could start storing breast milk now by expressing a little extra each day and freezing it, that could then be used while you are recovering from the effects of anaesthesia and surgery. Keep expressing regularly (as if baby was still feeding) after the surgery- you may need your partner or a close friend to help you on that one. Check with your anaesthetist what drugs have been used and how soon you can start to give baby your breast milk again. Do you know if there are any breast feeding counsellors in your area? (La Leche may be able to help)as they could help too. You may need to find different positioning techniques for feeding as the scar area will be sore for sometime, but using pillows and experimenting should make that easier. If you can breast feed that will be fantastic- good luck

I was admitted to hospital back in May with chest pains, all tests for heart problems were clear but on CT scan they found a lesion on my liver, further tests and consultations with a hepatologist and they are still not completely sure but think its a focal nodular hyperplasia (FNH), they say it doesn't look like typical FNH but doesnt look like typical adenoma either, so they will re scan in a year and check it again. Sent to see a gastro enterologist who discovered hiatus hernia, inflammation and helicobacter bug in stomach- treated for all that. In the meantime my symptoms have not gone away and I was taken to A&E last week when they discovered I have low Oxygen levels, my Dr now wants to send me to see a respiratory specialist. Seems by the time theyve finished with me most of my body will have been checked out!
Up to this year I have been fairly healthy so it has been a bit of a shock to the system to feel under par and not get to the bottom of it.
