My menopause symptoms have really kicked in these last few months...flashes every hour..some quite debilitating..I experience weight gain even though I work out regularly and have curbed my calories to about 1200/day. I used to "know" my body very well, but now I feel as though nothing I do has any effect on me. I am trying to stay buoyed up..and get through this, but it's miserable. Phyto B has been recommended by a good number of my girlfriends who did not want to go on the patch! Anyone have success with phyto B? Any other recommendations? Seems we women sure did get the genetic short end of the stick!!!!

phytoestrogen is good. But my opinion, if you are fully intact, uterus and all, you should find some sort of progesterone, just minimum to go along with the phyto. If doctors want you to take progestins with estrogens thru patch or pill form, then I would think with phytoestrogen also. You do not want to become estrogen dominant unless you've had a hysterectomy. I use a natural estrogen/progesterone made by Doctor's natural therapy. I also have the script for combipatch but am afraid to take it. So I bought the natural stuff and am trying it now before any other change. So far so good. Will keep everyone posted here but it seems to be workng on some issues presently but just started a few days ago.

Thanks for the post. Yes, PhytoB also has progesterones, and within about three days of taking it my hot flashes have stopped completely..hallelluia!
there was, strangely, a 4 lb weight gain...I dont know if taking the supplement causes water gain, but I really dont care as the hot flashes were quite debilitating. I also had a three days period about 10 days into taking them...( I had not had a period for 5 months) I wish I really knew more about all of this, it seems quite complex to me..and I do study it, but the written word does little to actually let me know exactly what my body is doing...I workout every day, I watch what I eat, my caloric intake is at about 1200 which is good for my height 5'1", but I seem to only gain weight as I go through menopause. Very discouragiing..
any ideas????
