I saw a new RE today. Even though today is day 6 of my cycle, he was going to start me on a Clomid/HCG/IUI cycle again. But first he had to do a base line u/s. They found a lining in my uterus not completely shed from last period, a large cyst in my left ovary and many little follicles in my right ovary. The dr. said these are probably left over from my last cycle.
After finding these, he said I had to wait a month to try again. This month I have to take bcp to get rid of cysts, and then month I can ttc again. This sucks! The 2MW (two month wait) is much worse than the 2ww.
So, since I won't need it this month, I'm sending all my baby dust your way. Good Luck to everyone who is in 2ww now.

Mindoo - I know exactly how you feel. I too, had to go on the bcp last month, when I was just about ready to start the Pergonal. I wanted to scream everytime I popped that pill in my mouth. Sometimes I felt like not even taking it, but then quickly came to my senses and realized I had to in order to proceed. I also had cysts and they went away in two weeks. The level of the bcp was so low that I started to spot so I had to double up on the pill in order to finish the pack.... Anyway, I completely know where you are coming from - try to keep your head up - you want your body to be as healthy as can be so that when you do get pregnant, you are 100% healthy! My thoughts are with you - jen

What's worse than the 2 month wait? The 3 MONTH WAIT.
Yes, ladies , 3 months after a Rubella shot for my body to build up antibodies so I can be protected during pregnancy!
I too, felt like screaming when the RE told me I had to have the shot and wait fot 3 more months before tcc again! I cried instead.
I usually post on the pregnancy board, on the ttc buddies thread, but sometimes read the posts here, as I've also gone through some of the tests you have.
I just want to say to you, Mindy and Jen that I feel for you and want to send you TONS of babydust for your "bank"
Good luck and much love,
Nela.

Jen and Nela, thank you for the replies and understanding. When I got up this morning, I had a much better attitude. I was able to focus on the good things that happened yesterday. I think I found another good doctor who will try things a little differently. Maybe an adjustment in my treatment is what I need to conceive. (My old doctor moved out of state - so finding a new doctor is a bit of a releif.) Also, this new doctor is a little cheaper than my old doctor. He will let me pay the insurance discounted rates rather than the full rates.
Again, thank for giving me an outlet and thanks fot the understanding. In the whole scheme of things, this 2MW will probably be over in a blink of an eye.
BTW Nela, what prompted the dr. to give you a Rebella shot?
Good Luck,
Mindy

I had the same exact situation--all ready to start Pergonal and had to sit out a month due to cysts. The nurse told me I didn't HAVE to take the BCP's so I didn't. We'll see how wise that decision was. Anyway, this month has just dragged on while I wait for AF so I can go back to the doctor. She's due to visit march 8. It seems like on months when youre doing all the medical procedures, it goes by quicker, because you have little timelines to meet for each thing. Another note--the paper this morning had an article about a family with quads that just turned 1yr old. All perfectly healthy and properly developing. Of course, you guessed--mom took fertility meds 1 mo prior to conception. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Mindy, glad to see you're feeling better! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
I had to have the Rubella shot because the RE did a blood test to see if I had the antibodies and lo and behold I didn't! Like all girls, I was given the shot just before puberty (at school), but now at age 38, it's worn off. Which is something the ladies here should look into if they're older, like me. If you catch Rubella during pregnancy, it causes severe birth defects, and the usual solution is having to terminate, as the baby doesn't even live after birth.
It's a standard test here at the RE, along with the usual fertility workup, which I'm glad for!
Good luck, sweetie!

Nela, I had to have the Ruebella shot too, but that was in September, so I am over the 3MW. If you've been reading my posts, my answer to your question about what is worse may be, "the 10 month wait" http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wink.gif
(learned this from Marie too)

Jody C,
The 10MW is worse. I'm going to start a new thread "Infertility and Insuraance". I've appealed my rejected claims. I think I saw on a thread that you have started this process also. Let's share "dealing with insurance tips".

Jody and Mindoo, yes..you're right, the 10 month wait has to be the WORST!
My 3 month wait is becoming the 4 month wait, unfortunately as CD1 starts 5 days before I get the all clear for ttc! I'm sending you ladies all my "patience vibes" and hoping we can all make it through this stressful time with courage and renewed hope. . I'll be visiting here often, so look forward to reading your updates. My thoughts are with you

My two month wait is down to about two weeks. I took my third progesterone tablet this morning - 7 more to go. I think my cysts have cleared out. The whole month of February I was in mild but constant pain on the left side. It's been non-existant this month. I will be disappointed if I go in for my next u/s, and the cysts are still there. However, the doctor felt confident that a normal cycle and the progesterone pills would make them go away. My last IUI was Jan 10. I hope I can have another IUI by April 10.
Good Luck to all!

If you catch Rubella during pregnancy, it causes severe birth defects, and the usual solution is having to terminate, as the baby doesn't even live after birth.
NOT ALWAYS. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif I am living proof of that...I was born with a heart condition from CRS (congenital rubella syndrome) that was repaired when I was a month old, had an enlarged liver and spleen that grown smaller after my heart surgery, I was born low-birthweight (5 lbs. 3 oz.), I have the "salt-and-pepper mottling" in my eyes but it doesn't affect vision, I had a rash at the hospital where I was born, and I have small hands and feet.
My mother had rubella during the 1st trimester with me, and the doctor who took care of her while her real doctor was gone somewhere yelled at her for not having an abortion. But Mom did not want an abortion because she doesn't believe in killing babies. Her real doctor found out what the other doctor said, and told her not to worry since it was only 25% chance of a baby having birth defects.
Yes, I almost died around a month old since I had a severe heart failure from my congential heart problem, but I had surgery and it saved my life.
Oh yeah, I am also hearing-impaired, and I am a glaucoma suspect. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif I have met other grown-up CRS babies on a mailing list and a lot of them have the same CRS conditions I have. :
So, it's not always true that CRS babies do not survive after birth....I made it, and the others in that list did too. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gifBut, yes, there are CRS babies that did die during the first year. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif

Nancy...thanks for sharing your story with us. I'm so happy that you made it through such a difficult time. You are certainly living proof of doctors being wrong! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
My R.E was sooo adamant about not TTC during the Rubella stage, that of course I didn't want to risk it. I've been TTC again this cycle and am currently in the 2WW, so that's all over. I do still want to remind the ladies here to get tested BEFORE you conceive, as my policy is prevention, not reparation. Have a nice day http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
