I have posted on here before and the great advice I received was wonderful and so helpful, for those who do not know me I have my mom who has AD and I am doing what I can to step up to the plate. this weekend My sister's husband phoned to tell me that my sister who is just 57 has be diagnosed with dementia.....she was having problems but we put it down to her nervious breakdown 4 years ago and she has been do so much better health wise, so this is heartbreaking for me as she is my mom and dads annoited excutor of their wills, something that will have to be changed. my sister is going to a specialist in the next couple of weeks and hopefully there will be some meds to help for the interm, I am not sure just how the dementia is presenting itself, my sis is scheduled to see a specialist in the next couple ofweeks and we will go from there... is just keeps on coming doesn't it!!!!!!

I am so truly sorry Jags. It must be such a shock to hear of your sister's diagnosis. We think of it happening to our parents but our siblings are a little different. That actually makes us feel more vulnerable. I do hope the specialist can help with explinations and treatments that will benefit her.

I will keep you and your sister in my thoughts and prayers...

Love, deb

Oh dear,

IT doesn't seem quite fair does it? It isn't suppose to happen to our generation is it? I'm sorry to hear about your sister. I hope that you will find out what kind of dementia she has and that there is something that can be done to help her.

YOu're in our prayers....

I'm so sorry jags. That is what we all fear. My sisters and I are always waiting for one of us to get that diagnosis. Maybe she can be helped by the meds starting very early.
Its not fair. Its just too much to handle with taking care of your Mom and now this news. Its just tragic. Bless your heart.
You'll be in our thoughts and prayers.
Love Chris

Jag, I'm so sorry! She's so young! You're in my prayers today as you and your family deal with this new trial. I hope her husband will be able to help her find some kind of treatment to keep it at bay.

Please let us know...

Love, Emily

I sure hope she gets on a drug - even one of the experimental ones - that keeps her going long enough for the new Scottish drug to be released, the one that is said to reverse Alzheimers! She is young enough to make it .. to be one of the first cases actually healed. That's my prayer for her.

Love,

Martha

martha do you have a link to this new scottish drug that I might be able to go and have a look at.... it sure sounds interesting, I was telling my sis about it tonight and it really picked up her spirits just to even think that something like that is out there....
